I would like to take a few minutes, to ponder the new chat system, and why it clearly needs fixing, quite a bit.
When a presumably automated system detects segments of words and censors them. More often then not, it replaces the whole message for hashtags, as oppose to simply blotting out the one word. The issue here is that it makes talking almost impossible, as there is the same syllable in quite a derogatory swear as there is in the word 'baker'.
While it is good, that this change has been made to the childlock chat system as well, so they can actually see messages, it has also brutally impaired the ability for ALL players to communicate. If there were not custom admin commands with chat logs that bypass this feature, half of all conversations would be people trying to mangle words so the chat filter doesn't recognize them.
It also filters out words that quite simply shouldn't be filtered. the syllable h,o,m,o is filtered, because of it's obvious meaning, which is quite simply wrong. It is not an insult, it is not rude, it is a natural way of being. With that aside it is also the name of humankind. H,o,m,osapiens, and all of our ancestors along the evolutionary chain.
Perhaps there is a relation between the obscuring of h,o,m,o,se,x,uality oriented words and the fact this website is American, basing it on a most probably Christian majority?
Regardless of that, some words and effects of words by replacing characters such as E/3 and A/@, shouldn't remove the whole message.
Give a dimmed down system like this to childlock, and let people over 13 use whatever words they want. It's hardly like the 8 year old the system tries to protect don't already swear in real life anyway.
I'm sure this has less then inspired you, but let's not sit around and pretend the chat is currently in a good state, right?

It appears to be getting worse. Next to none of my messages are visible to people now, and I don't have childlock on, because I am too old for it. |

It'd would be nice if they fixed the filter system. It's downright annoying. I can't say no, you're, your, too, and many other words. It's like 2/3 of the words in the dictionary are censored. ._. |

I completely understand the problem and that Roblox's decision to upgrade the chat filtering is blasphemous beyond comprehension. This entirely makes having conversations impossible as you are always confronted by the broken system that should not even be called 'filtering' but rather 'pointless censorship'. I am telling you this and you will not like it. But here is what I am trying to get across...
Roblox is becoming a totalitarian style community. The clues are right in front of us. Roblox is now censoring opinions. Roblox is losing interest in keeping their community happy and healthy. Remember when Tix were removed? Yea, everyone does. It was a big thing. Roblox did try to make as many excuses as possible on why that decision was reasonable, but they were that. Excuses. They really did not mean anything and instead left many of us, Robloxians, in poverty. This is very similar to most totalitarian style areas. And Roblox would even neglect their new developers as the only way for them to make profits is to get their membership. I also feel as though as these popular game creators are being pressured to be sponsored or make money as they get restricted on certain aspects of their games. The filtering system is only going to further prove this point.

The most annoying thing is when you're modifying a group's description or a creating a forum and there is a 'supposedly' inappropriate word it messes up the entire thing. |

the way censoring works is that the "good" words are whitelisted instead of the bad ones, so basically its just really bad

@hugeawesomestgirl22 I totally agree, the devs are no longer focusing on what the community want, but driving on their own profit machine. Games that focus on a community based development with paying for bonuses on the side do JUST as well commercially! Look at games like Warframe! Everything in warframe is achievable without paying a penny, it just takes longer, and the community of people who like playing the game don't mind the extra gametime that playing for free gives them.
Roblox is practically impossible to enjoy now, without paying for something, and the communities feelings are completely ignored. |

Also, Roblox censors NUMBERS, and even if you try to spell it, it will censor the last letter. One time, I could not say "Oh" in a message. |

I have a theory:
Roblox added censorship for all players because a lot of players claimed that they were born in the year 2003 (I AM ONE OF THEM). and even worse, they added the censorship ON MY 13TH BIRTHDAY (April 3, 2003).
I am not saying this is why, but this is just my theory. |
