I know that this has been discussed before, but the threads descended into... Something.
ROBLOX was made to be inclusive, and to give people creative freedom. Some recent changes don't reflect that, but I'll overlook them.
At signup and in the settings, there are only two options-male and female. This presents an issue for anyone who identifies as gender non-binary.
Please do not respond with insults or unsubstantiated arguments (such as 'LGBTQ+ came from Tumblr' or calling non-binary people 'special snowflakes'.)
Non-binary/Trans* people are not 0.000001% of the population or whatever similar argument that you'd use.
If somebody genuinely doesn't understand this, I encourage them to do research, and not be afraid to ask questions. Just to clear up, gender is mental (what somebody 'identifies' as [I hate using the word 'identifies', as it suggests that gender is made up]), and isn't binary (restricted to two options-Male and Female), s*x (I hate the censoring) is what a person is physically, eg. what's between their legs, their chromosomes, and isn't binary either, as some people (about as common as redheads) are inters*x, which has many variations, and orientation is whom somebody is attracted to, and has nothing to do with this.
Things should generally be discussed in terms of gender, not s*x.
This issue could easily be resolved by adding a third 'other' gender option, ROBLOX doesn't need to adopt Facebook's system, for the sake of simplicity, and actually to be more inclusive, as well. |

I'd agree with inky. However, I think it is important to realise, that this doesn't really affect trans people, as they would just select the gender they identify with, but I agree that just for the sake of not making anyone feel uncomfortable, they should add an other option. I think that the argument that there should only be male & female due to the items they give you upon joining is not a good one either, as it is clearly stereotypical boys & girls clothes. In my opinion, ROBLOX should make no distinction between genders. It should be like how L E G O started - no gender in mind. If people want to buy "girls" items then they can do that. |

The removal of gendered items in the beginning would be ideal, but it won't happen.
