As someone who seen this group transform over the years I think I have some understanding of what changes made this group more active (afterall I lived through TDFalls term as a highrank and the Jkoscar02 term as an active outspoken member)
What has dumbfounded me about the current state of UCR is that our group is almost exclusively run by people who have been members for years. I absolutely think this is a great thing, as it shows how family-based our group is and how so many members are willing to stay.
What IS a problem in this group is that we have a distinct disconnection between the UCR members in the lower ranks and those in the high positions of power. If you would like to check the wall which has a good share of "no point" posts, be my guest.
While I understand I literally have no say in this group now that I am a long-time retired HR I wanted to write this one forum stating reforms that I believe will help us with our inactivity
My first idea is to reinstate the Senator rank from ~2010/2011 which will be placed under the "Councilium" rank on the scroll list. I know that this system had its flaws in the day but from what I remember, this excited many low ranks who were able to have an actual say in what direction they wanted the group to go in.
This also empowered the lower ranks. What I propose is that we keep the Councilium rank (which will still be chosen by the president) and put the rank at a bar of 5 members. We then add the Senator rank (democratically chosen) with a bar at 5 members as well. While the Councilium members would stay until a president resigns or a member quits the Senate will change terms after 1-2 months. The idea is that these two ranks would have the same power (1 vote per each member) and the President would either break a tie if necessary or have weighted voting power. The idea here is to not make this group a democracy, because it never was, but to give the lower ranks some input which will, in return, give the low ranks a reason to pay attention to other affairs that are going on within the group.
The great thing about this reform is that there are so many directions we can take it. What I realized from the clan world is that common fight-only groups that only raid are becoming less and less attractive to new roblox members. By giving the group some "roleplay" appeal we can attract younger members with the roleplay aspect and transform them into warriors via our rank process.
This will not likely get past the current administration, but I believe the best thing our group could do right now is revitalize our lower ranks and give them a new hope for their future in this group.
