Because the Super Mutants are genderless, we know they cannot reproduce. So they spread the mutation to humans roaming the wastelands by FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus) infection. So what happens if all of the humans become infected? Would the Super Mutants become extinct?
Well... yes. But the objective of the Super Mutants would be accomplished; wiping the entire human race from the face of the planet.

I'm pretty sure that it was mentioned somewhere in Fallout 2 that Super Mutants are immortal in a sense. They can't die from old age, only from anything else.
So if they can withstand most humans and other Wasteland threats, they'd be fine.

Super mutants are practically immortal due to one of the mutations from the FEV or something.
Ghouls cannot reproduce either.

I'd assume that Super Mutants have like a maximum size, with an exception to rare, huge ones such as Behemoth.

Well you wouldn't be able to grow by conventional means. But at that point it wouldn't really matter, since Super Mutants are practically immortal, and you'd have taken over the entire known human population.
