Swimming is so hard to these dumb people a couple of them heres a cool thing I found
Here's some questions for all you doubters :)
1. In what other sport do you break down if you don't achieve your goal by one hundredth of a second? In fact, in what other sport does that one hundredth even count?
2. In what other sport do you raise your heart rate so high every day that it passes your healthy maximum heart rate but you are told to keep going?
3. In what other sport do you use every single muscle in your body for every slight twitch of your body?
4. In what other sport do you train for at least 2 hours in the water and then straight after, get out of the water and train for another few hours on dry land?
5. In what other sport are you forced to do so many repetitive movements that your joints begin to break down at the age of 14?
6. In what other sport does your coach yell at you for breathing?
7. In what other sport do you constantly feel like your chest will cave in at any moment from holding your breath for that long?
8. In what other sport do you feel like your muscles are quite literally on fire and you can't move your limbs any more after a practice? Again, in what other sport do you feel like this after not even having an actual competition?
9. And on that note, in what other sport do you compete every single day against your best friends and your worst enemies and push each other past the breaking point?
10. In what other sport do you take 20 minutes or more to get into a uniform that you already know is five sizes too small?
11. In what other sport do you wake up at 4:30 in the morning to go to a 2 hour practice before school even starts every day?
12. In what other sport do you practice for 20 hours a week?
13. In what other sport do you constantly stay sore for 50 out of 52 weeks of the year?
14. In what other sport is there no "off season"? We are quite literally swimming (and this does not apply for high school swimmers) year round. We go through the awful weather, our everlasting pain, mental challenges, and many other things.
15. And for all you people who say we are not in risk of dying like some other sports where you could get hit, tackled, etc. , I have a few questions for you.
1. Have you ever been to a meet warm-up where you are kicked in the jaw by a person a foot taller than you and who weighs 20 pounds more than you do to the point where you may pass out?
2. Have you ever thought about the amount of times that each swimmer has passed out from lack of oxygen?
Ask yourself these questions, and see if you doubt us again.
