I think we should ban the button that says do not allow replies to this post for a few good reasons. First off, people are making off topic threads and not allowing other people to reply. Secondly, taking criticizm is a life skill people shouldn't explode everytime me or someone else says that they don't like the posters idea. Thirdly I'm tired of seeing posts that give pointless ideas and then flaming people like me, darthbob, FoxOn,obft and pwnzercupcake because we criticized their ideas. Sure we can jut report them, but taking criticizm is a skill that will help you in life. |

Yeah, I agree with this idea. If someone wants to post something on a public forum, people should be allowed to comment on it no matter what, or else it isn't really a forum by definition. |

@Luke2k
Why not? Give a reason don't just say no. |

i got a reason to say no, some people want o give an idea, they know people will hate it even if it would make the game better, they just wont see the point, so they make it un responsive so an admin can decide upon it without the criticism of other people. |

Taking criticizm is a life skill. Better learning that on an online game than in real life. |

If you cant take the negative feedback, dont make a idea that well be easily rejected. |
|
|

@boozoo
I'm reinforcing points I've already made.
@snoopy
With this we can tell them what they are doing wrong so that they don't do it again instead of just reporting them. |

I'm not sure either. =) |

Well, if someone makes an offtopic thread, and people can't reply to it, then it can't get bumped, and will just fall through the forums until it can't be seen. |
|
|
I don't agree. Spam that denies replies doesn't stay on the front page long.
Plus you disagree on almost all my threads you see. -_- |

@powerblade. Wow. Your only dissagreeing because he dissagres with all your threads? Thats just plain stupid. |

Mods need it for stickies. |
|
|
What if someone is posting all about their group and what to do?
Someone would come up and say
'UR GROOP SUX!' |
|
|
...So you want to make players more prone to flaming by removing a safety barrier used to help the community when you are more likely to report when you can't reply a flaming comment while the administrators want you to report to keep a safe environment, disregarding the fact that players get their inbox spammed, flamed, and receive personal attacks enough to make players regret that they posted, and wish they could disable replies? |
|
|
Disabling that button would cause chaos.
If you disable the button, then people can't make a thread without getting flamed over it. At least usually.
People want to make a post, and then someone disagrees about it. But what if the person just wanted it moderator-viewed? |

I think it is stupid. Plus there is no use. It can produce spam.
Plus I can never get it to work... |

See what I mean?
It is stupid. |

No, it's considered an update, and you're suggesting to remove an update, which is un-allowed.
That, and mods need it for stickies. |
|
OBFJoin Date: 2009-09-29 Post Count: 10709 |
The mods could still ue it for stickies and I'm suggesting an update that players couldn't use it. Thi would stop spam, or at least reduce it, because instead of jst getting reported for spamming, the spammers would know not to do that again. |
