ACCORDING TO PSPJOHN1'S SPEECH, ONE OF THEM WAS-\
ok fine, meshparts.
|
|
|
in terms of what?
if you just add a mesh to a regular brick that isnt going to change anything
if you mean using the new meshes instead of building things? yes definitely meshes

hey guys just so you are aware you can stick meshes inside of regular bricks o_o thats why sometimes you cant walk up wedges and such so depending on how or what he wants to use meshes for you might have no idea what hes talking about
|
|
tadcoolJoin Date: 2009-05-24 Post Count: 4244 |
He's talking about "Mesh-Part" and or "file-Mesh"
|
|
RobzricJoin Date: 2013-05-08 Post Count: 9823 |
actually @tad
they don't even consist of a brick
they're polygons
thousands of them most of the time |
|
|
He's talking about "Mesh-Part" and or "file-Mesh"
you mean the mesh you can shove into any brick and from there is where you decide to use mesh primitives or add file meshes?
you arent a developer i dont know what youre trying to debate homie if he is trying to use the new meshes they added to reduce part count yes 100% less lag but if he is putting meshes into regular bricks because he thinks theyr educe lag thats a negative
reduce part count = good
add meshes into every brick = bad

bricks are better
but if you need meshes, use in moderation

Ah okay
tldr
Meshes take more computing power than regular bricks because they are more complex
If what you are trying to accomplish for a certain model requires alot of bricks, use a meshpart or mesh
If it only requires a few bricks to accomplish your goal, use bricks
good for meshes
guns
tree leaves
tools that require multiple parts |

basically if you take a roblox model, import and export as a mesh that won't decrease lag at all because the polygon count stays the same
it really depends on how you're using them, but you can at least help reduce lag with MeshParts by setting their CollisionFidelity to box. |
