It's basically a main component when developing on ROBLOX, and it's pretty pointless for it's price. Since tickets are gone, it could be a good, suitable, replacement and help new developers actually create a decent build with audio that isn't in the Audio section to upload their own. I don't want to spend 40k uploading audio that doesn't exist.

i semi-support
i think itd be better if you pay more robux the longer you want the audio to be.
*for example*
for an audio thats between 0:01-0:31, it would cost 15 robux
for an audio thats between 0:32-1:01, it would cost 30 robux
for an audio thats between 1:02-1:31, it would cost 45 robux
****basically adding 15 robux for each 30 second increment

Support. They should make audios up to 5 minutes instead of 2 as well. |
|
|
They made audio a paid service because if it became free, there'd be way too much for moderators to inspect. This can't be done :S
|
|
|
Then maybe people can upload one audio a week? I think that's fair. |

@irec
if its 5 minutes, roblox would be sued to the max. plus the person above has a valid point of not having enough mods to revise it. |

Decals are free to be uploaded, why not audio?

@ PokeShadow77
Decals are free and they have time to moderate that, it wouldn't make much of a difference to upload audio, besides, isn't that basically their job?
It can be done

support. I think audio is vital to creating a good gameplay experience. I second what rec said about a limit on how many audios you are able to upload within a timeframe. |

40k would be 400 sounds
if you need so many sound effects then put them in 1 audio and use TimePosition to do the correct sound effect
and im pretty sure you wouldn't need 400 sounds for 1 game

squ1rtedJoin Date: 2011-08-07 Post Count: 504 |
why are you telling me this im worrying about the audio not being free not this
|
|
BorsyJoin Date: 2014-07-31 Post Count: 15111 |
mods have to sit and listen for 2 WHOLE MINUTES for each sound, unlike decals and meshes which only take about 2 seconds per asset. this is the reason why it costs 100 robux
if it were free then for every sound that was reviewed, 200 more would appear for reviewing
|
|
|
Isn't there copy right to the sounds? Or is it because its 2 minutes, they don't need to pay anything? |
|
|
Ok, so now you're comparing decals to audio, but I'd argue that there's a pretty big line between the two.
A decal is a single stilled image that sometimes won't take very long to approve or disapprove. Audio, on the other hand, it is necessary to listen to the entire 2-minute length PER file, so it generally takes a whole lot longer to listen and moderate through an entire audio file rather than a decal image.

No support.
Moderation would simply be unhandable
ROBLOX already has whale servers.

Guys you got to think the cost of this would be hundreds and hundreds of times bigger than the profit and satisfaction created.
