With Renato Sanches in the squad and possibly Jose Gomes if he is on the Squad soon (so possibly next year or 2018) and in time for World Cup, I wouldn't be counting out Portugal in the World Cup |

Other than 2010 and 2014 in the past 8 years, Portugal did fine in 2006 until we lost to France. Not to mention, we had horrible coaches in 2010 and 2014. |

portugal have had an insanely easy bracket and italy played against some of the best teams in the world in the knockout stage
portgual had croatia squeaked by
portugal had poland and won on penalties
italy had spain and won convincingly
italy had germany and lost on penalties
italy has had a better tournament

We performed vs Croatia and Poland well enough to not be eliminated though, for god sakes, we had Rui Patricio in goal net in the penalties. |

I do believe we might not make finals and that wales could score 3 if Pepe misses game tomorrow as he is in doubt atm but hopefully not since Ramsey isn't playing and he did a lot for Wales to get those goals. |
