Currently the forum community is saturated with bots and useless threads/posts for the primary benefit of getting a higher post count. This in turn deceives a person, particularly in S&I and Help (Technical Support and Account Issues), who believes a 10K+ post forumer holds more credibility over a 100+ post forumer. The 10K+ forumer could have easily either botted or replied uselessly while the 100+ forumer could have replied with sufficient explanation, etc. See how rigged the system is? I understand that there is some worry of how or if you could evaluate someone's experience without post count, but the system could easily help you evaluate someone's credibility. The first 50 "+REP points" of a user would be administered by a moderator (or a person who themself have 50+ +REP points). After that, the user would be eligible to vote to add +REP to another user; however, this user could only receive +REP if a certain percent of 50+ +REP forumers and moderators vote to administer then +REP. The system could go as far as to max out at 100 where the forumer could +REP/-REP and receive a forum badge on their profile. (Maybe get our first forum badge, eh?) To avoid being rigged, there could be a limit on how much you can vote +REP or -REP, e.g. once a day. Of course this system might not have perfect logistics, but it seems like a better, viable alternative to "Post Count." Also, ROBLOX could certainly organize this system or create a better alternative themselves. Idea credits go out to Saus, 0pk, Gaomon_94, C1N3M4RK, and I. Feel free to leave additions, etc!

I actually support this. It could quite easily be adapted to counter "Rep killing". Limit how much ones rep can go up or down every day to a small amount. You would also have to have more rep then said person to lower their rep, preventing those that would exist to destroy the system.

Partial support. Put both of them together and add a "Thank You" button and thanks received/given stats.

I don't remember the last time someone's post count was made for their credibility, but okay. No support. You hardly see anybody utilizing post count or even being successful with a higher post count. Plus, you can believe whoever you want. Creating a reputation system is pointless

"I don't remember the last time someone's post count was made for their credibility, but okay." Credibility ties in with experience, something I'd assume they'd take into consideration when thinking of post count. Yes, you could believe whomever you wish, but wouldn't a reputation-bar be more conducive to newcomers, particularly naive ones. Also, darkline1, you didn't provide any examples as to why these "would ruin your life." Furthermore, abuse would be rare with a "log" system, which is most likely used by moderators regardless. Support this thread! http://forum.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=193138841

No, no, no ,no! Take a look at the Scripting Helpers website, there is a lot of abuse, from my 3 answers(at least 2 of them were correct I think) I got overall -6 reputation! No! The trolling is worse than you think!

Reputation can be rewarded by being active in a certain forum area. Once you get very respected in a certain forum area your reputation goes up. Its kind of like an unwritten rule, if you understand what I mean. For example, I am respected in the forum LMaD due to the fact ive forumed there for a long time. People that are unknown have less reputation then somebody thats well known. Good idea, but this isn't very needed.

To make my post more clear, what im saying is we dont need actual visual reputation things on each of our forum posts like other forums outside of roblox do. Reputation is just getting respected in a certain forum
