Studio: Moving the Models to the Surface isn't Working

In the studio, how can a space not occur between an added item and the base plate? Moving the model to the ground isn't working thus it is ineffective. Thanks!

Please concentrate on the selection box. Check if there is unnecessary space underneath the model, as if there was dead space on the model.

That works on a flat ground, yet it doesn't work on the slopes. Can models be placed on a slope or a mountain? Trees do not have that situation since they can stand on the slopes and not leave a space. Thanks!
