I wanted to make this thread in response to OurIndependence's overruling of everyone's wish to go back to the linked sabres at NY/Battles. I realized that it would take more than just a petition to get this wish to come true; it would take reasoning. The linked sword is an iconic piece of ROBLOX that is used universally. It makes no sense to replace it with a partially broken sabre (I literally can't think of ONE good thing about it that's better than the linked sabre) that really interferes with the player's experience at NY. So yeah, here's my word wall. Please take the time to read it.
To start off, these animated sabres are rather buggy. You'll find a lot of times when you slash that the sabre doesn't keep up with your body's animations, shown here: https://gyazo.com/cb2b5c988f6245702279de6a6baa58a3. You'll notice in the GIF that the sabre's animation is choppy compared to the arm's. The sabre lags and is behind the arm's animations at times, especially when you alternate between lunging and blocking. When you deselect the sabre, it usually stays in the same place along with your arms as you walk away. The bugs you'll encounter while combating with the sabre may be rather annoying as well. Many times you'll lunge and your sword will seemingly go straight through your opponent without it registering it as a hit. The new sabre is in place to add to some realism to melee combat, but with the bugs it contains it doesn't give that.
Now let's get into why it's better to keep the linked sabre. There's really no arguing that needs to be done here. Everyone agrees that we need to go back. The linked sabre brought an amazing feel to NY that the new one simply cannot remake. Every other colonial group uses linked weaponry. Our soldiers should be training with those, not practicing with something else. That will not help in raids. One thing that caught my eye was when Rem said something about how he doesn't want to go back to old weaponry. Again, linked weaponry is not outdated. It's used by everyone. You know the saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". You might say that ROBLOX has broken the linked sword somewhat, but that's actually fixable (https://www.roblox.com/Sabre-fixed-so-you-dont-fly-freeze-item?id=459011999).
Furthermore, the new sabre has been a large reason for why NY isn't as great as it used to be. The linked sabre was just so much more fun to use over this new one. It brought a lot of chaos at times, which is actually New York's fuel to keep it active. Without chaos, nobody would want to stay there. The only real reason TCA patrols it still is because they're told to patrol it. If the LRs had a choice, they wouldn't patrol it daily, if at all. It also just doesn't fit in at NY. Missing a shot with the musket on someone who committed a crime and then having to use the dreaded that takes 3 hits to kill (or more, counting the hits that should have been registered) certainly isn't very fun, especially against a hidden blade. Speaking of the hidden blade, it's pretty much impossible to combat that with the sabre. R.I.P to those poor army souls who can't afford any GPs and missed their shot with the musket.
So please, Rem, for the sake of NY and everyone in it, replace these new sabres with the beloved linked version.

Too be honest they are OP, if they are brought back they will be nerfed a lot. |

That's what makes them fun, without them being OP it would take away from the chaos thing I was talking about.
Besides, you could teach soldiers to have a better reaction time and not have them stand so close to the fence and the line won't be wiped out so much.

I hate the new swords so much. I swing it and nothing hits. It lags. Blocking takes away the desperation you feel in a sword fight. Backfiring I support this. Everyone needs to ban together and support this. TCA is losing members and these excuses of a sabre are not helping the matter. |

As a senior and former TCA officer, I'd like to emphasize how these new weapons are ruining what I used to call "Home". The colonial world is essentially based with overly sophisticated weaponry that is simply over the top. I understand it's more realistic and might even be the best tech the colonial. However, I'd like to point out that the tech is essentially useless if it doesn't serve and more importantly make everyone happy. I miss those days where I can musket abuse and sit on a horse and pick off my enemies one on one, I missed those days where I can actually coordinate a fun raid without anyone complaining about the performance of the base, I miss the colonial world. If only you'd realize how much for fun it is with less sophisticated tech. And I do agree with this man here, his points are valid. Also, Rem you were an officer that I never liked. You were friends and had connections and you rose in the ranks through that. You didn't put as much work as everyone else did and I despise you for that. CaptainRomanov and I knew that the best. Ourwar was/is cancer. I wish Bakers gave the group to it's original heir, Gunslinger. G'day. |

I agree, as the guy above me said, there's no point in it if it doesn't make the game more enjoyable. When you make a genre, you want people do enjoy it, don't you? Remy and Polar are perhaps the only people who like these swords. It's quite selfish in my opinion. |

Yeah, I definitely agree with this one. The fast paced gameplay of the old sabre were great compared to this new one. I would also gladly trade in my throwing knives I get in the CiCG for a linked sabre. |

Nah, it NEVER must get back to usual linked sabre. If you want linked sabre - be either dragoon, either HR. |

Craft, I understand that you can't sf, and I know that would be a problem for some people. It's not our fault you never get any practice, it's the person who removed the decent sword's fault. |
