To rank up from soldier to Disciples a general has to select you
To rank up from soldier to Paladin your skills and loyalty will have to be noticed by a high rank
To rank up from Disciples to Royal Generals , the General in charge of you has to choose one of you to replace that general.
To rank up from Paladins to Royal Generals, you'll have to show even more loyalty and strength
To rank up from Royal Generals to the Emperor, the current one has to retire and choose one, if for any reason he doesn't or can't the royal adviser will replace him.
To become the Royal Adviser you have to be chosen to replace the current one.
