it's quite self explanatory though x and y are part of (x,y) m represents by how much y increases each time x increases and b well b isn't part of the coordinates, but you add that to the mx

isnt m slope and b is y intercept or something like that well schlamalamadingdong right back at ya :^)

If you can't afford to go to a private school, then I suggest you recompense for that by studying W1k1p3d1@ pages vigorously until summer ends. Or check out [Content Deleted}

"they dont explain why y=mx+b" Yeah, they do. It has to do with ease of graphing. Y intercept and slope and all that.

#194251286Friday, July 22, 2016 3:33 AM GMT

@yatou not even that
TheCasca
#194251321Friday, July 22, 2016 3:34 AM GMT

"but do you think most people in a public school will know that?" well yes because your homework will force you to use y=mx+b and then you'll realize what each thing represents

#194251453Friday, July 22, 2016 3:36 AM GMT

@thecas from my experience, no they don't.

ALSO LETS TALK ABOUT ANOTHER GOOD EXAMPLE d=m/v how you find density nobody teaches why you can divide the mass and the volume to get the density

do you read your math textbook then? textbooks are pretty much infallible it's such a basic thing stuff like that is explained at the beginning of each chapter
