[1] Intro [2] LAL/MIN [3] CHA/POR [4] SAC/MEM - [1] As I did in NRBA S9, I will be recaping as many games as I can attend. - [2] In this preseason opener for LAL/MIN, both teams faired well and looked very good, proving their top tier potential. [Los Angeles Lakers] Another season from LMJ, another season you can expect him to be one of the best in the league. LMJ's display of dribble moves broke down Minnesota's defensive zone, and forced the zone to collapse on LMJ, providing his options with wide open shots and hash play opportunities. LMJ shot the lights out and provided Los Angeles with a lot of their points. SD also was a huge threat. SD and LMJ's combined 2-2 defense is absolutely lock down, Minnesota had a tough time breaking their traps and double teams. SD and LMJ combined for a ton of steals and both finished on the other side right off the bat on offense. Los Angeles' main rookie Rondo provided good all around play for Los Angeles. The bench could use better communication. [Minnesota Timberwolves] Minnesota's rookie, nyqn, really showed out in his first preseason game. Not only did he play great defense on a tough opponent as a first game, he broke the Lakers great defensive zone and created opportunities for himself and his teammates and ultimately led to a comeback and a one-time lead in the 3rd quarter. On the other hand, teammates x1337xlegitx1337, SaavageJayy and chefbarfbag12 provided much needed to help to hold a battle throughout the game with LAL, chef provided great 3-and-D play getting steals and fast break buckets, and 1337 finished on tough opportunities throughout the game. Minnesota was without some important players, they look to be an underdog and possible threat to many top teams. SaavageJayy played well scoring off hash plays and making good passes. - [3] In the CHA/POR preseason opener, both teams looked very rocky, but had bright spots. [Charlotte Hornets] Bigdestroyer ultimately led the team and played pretty well. Charlotte had a good press-defense that led to a comeback late in the game after POR pulled ahead. CHA missed a lot of gimme shots and really needs to improve on finishing their shots. SlimSneed showed his great ballhandling skills, but couldn't finish most shots. Slim game through late in the game when he broke down the defense and found good opportunities for his teammates. Charlotte doesn't look to be a huge threat if they don't add some new talent to the team, they lack shooters and need to stop turning over the ball. Charlotte's press defense looked very good and should be a full-time establishment for the team as it will lead to more success, and could possibly turn the team around. [Portland Trailblazers] Portland looked like a giant troll, they don't look to be a threat once again but they do have some bright spots that could change that. Tusker, a key player, was ejected early which pulled them down some. Rookie DeAnthonyWilliams played great and looked like a very good spot up shooter and 3-and-D player. However, ThunCorporations, their 5th pick, didn't play up to his expectations, he missed a chunk of easy shots, turned the ball over and was inconsistent on defense. Dame played pretty well as a shooter, but turned the ball over a couple of times off questionable moves. Portland played very well late into the game and made the most of their opportunities on fast break attempts. - [4] Sacramento and Memphis played a pretty good game in SAC-Town, Memphis showed it's dominance early, but Sacramento took over late. [Sacramento Kings] Sacramento came into the season not looking to be a huge threat, but they proved the NRBA wrong and are a pretty big threat. Rose2Raw and WillJ played great, WillJ knocked down various shots from various areas with his good ball handling, these shots were very difficult and he finished with ease, he looks to be a top catch-and-shoot player this season and Sacramento runs a play that looks pretty dangerous with him. Rose2Raw played great at the point and showed his ballhandling skills and ran the hash play very well, he knocks down his shots and creates opportunities for himself very well. Sacramento had some rocky defense at first, but solved their problems late into the game. [Memphis Grizzlies] Memphis is a very hard-fighting team in the paint, Memphis grabs a lot of offensive rebounds and closes out on defensive rebounds very well. Memphis dominates in the paint and actually focused a good chunk of their offense on playing in the paint. Clonejoe ran the point a little bit and got the hash play running pretty well. Turnovers were a problem as some hash play opportunities were ruined off missed passes. Memphis' defense looked very good at times and was a little rusty at other times, True still has it in him on defense and he played very well with the 3-and-D game locking down early on and finishing his shots at the other end. LocalHacks played good on offense hitting tough shots and creating good opportunities off the hash. Jakehitemup also hit some great shots as well off the bench. -
