BASIC FIRING DRILLS

Volley:
Everyone fire at the same time, once.
Ripple:
Fire one by one at officer's side or a specific side.

FORMATIONS

Shoulder to Shoulder Line:
On the command STS, you will line up shoulder to shoulder, in one rank.
Stagger:
On the command Form Stagger, every second soldier from the right, i.e. 1 2 1 2 (every 2), takes 3 steps backwards, this creates 2 ranks.
Fire and Advance:
After form stagger, fire and advance can be called. In fire and advance the front rank fires, following the commands of the officer, and then the second rank advances, before firing, then the second rank (formally the first rank) advances and fires, this continues until the officer stops. The commands are as follows: Make ready, Present, Fire, Reload, for the first rank, then Advance, before repeating.
2 Ranks:
On the command, Form 2 ranks, you will form stagger, with the 2s moving backwards, and then every 2 will make a right face, move behind the person to his right in the first rank, and subsequently make a left face, therefore standing behind the man to his right.
Close ranks:
On this command, the men on the rightmost of any ranks stands still, whilst everyone shuffles to their right to fill any gaps. This is normally used following form 2 ranks.
Dress Left/Right:
On the command dress [Side] the furthest person on the side stated, whilst everyone fills the gaps by shuffling to the side stated.
Wedge:
On the command form wedge, the centre man in the line, or the person on the right if there are 2 people in the centre takes 3 steps forwards, whilst the men either side stand still. Then after that the people either side of the 2 men stand still move [Their position from the man standing still on their side] x 3 backwards, creating a wedge shape.
Skirmish:
Break formation and begin to find cover in the area that you are in and start firing at the enemy with a command from an officer.
