If this fails, consider it my last RP for quite a long time. Or ever. I consider it a fail if it doesn't reach twenty pages.

The year is 3274, and Earth is having trouble. Pollution is at an all-time-high, all plant-life has been clear-cut down, the majority of the population is dead, clean water is almost out, natural resources have been depleted, and the list goes on. A total of five hundred million people still live on the Earth, in one of five hundred biodomes built to sustain life. Sooner or later, these Utopian cities will fail. But the Government has one glimmering shard of hope for it's people.
One hundred years back, an unknown mass drifted into Earth's system. The few scientists left alive discarded the mass as a simple large asteroid that would drift back out of the system soon. This mass soon settled into a natural orbit of the Sun. When this strange phenomenon occurred, the scientists began to study the mass. With extensive use of probes, telescopes, and more technology, the scientists found that this land mass was actually a planet teeming with life. With more probes, and remotely controlled robots, they found that the plantlife was compatible with the atmosphere and soil of Earth. They also found some mineral rich deposits, and upon checking the massive ocean, discovered that it was one-hundred percent clean water. Instantly, these reports were sent to the Government, who instantly began plans to explore the planet.
Construction began for the most ambitious construction project ever. Within ninety years, the space station Hope was built. It had a capacity for ten thousand people and vehicles, food, mined resources, and anything else a human would need. It was launched as soon as it had finished being built. Today, in the year 3274, it has finally begun to orbit Denura. It currently only holds a tenth of it's capacity.
You are part of one of the scout squadrons sent to explore this planet. Alpha, Beta, or Epsilon.
________________________________________________________________________________
Alpha is the primary scout squadron. They are armed with light gear, allowing optimal movement, but increasing danger to them. They are the boldest of the soldiers, and are the ones who received the majority of their training on the journey to Denura. They have earned the nickname Cannon-Fodder from the other squadrons, because hostiles on the planet will have an easy time with them. They are equipped with basic Light Recon Armour, by the Techwan company. They also have the standard Techwan HUD, and standard Government LARs. That would be 'Light Assault Rifles'. Their suit carries their ammunition, and provides minimal protection. It has hydraulics built into the legs, allowing higher jumping and faster running. The HUD has only the bare basics; medical information, ammunition counters and a compass. Their weapons are the most basic of the Government's issue weapons, but are also the most reliable, providing a twenty round clip, decent accuracy, and good stopping power.
Beta is the backup. They have assault gear, so are not built so much for exploration as rescue. They are hardened soldiers. They are equipped with LyrArms Assault Class Combat Armour, the Advanced Techwan HUDs, and Techwan Light Machine Guns and Scatterguns. The armour provides more optimal protection, but less mobility, including the basic features like storing ammunition, and more advanced features like administering morphine and other medical supplies when needed. Their HUDs are more or less the same as the standard ones, but with an additional feature; medical information. This relates to broken bones, fractures in the armour, etc. Their LMGs are heavy and inaccurate, but will tear holes in near anything. The Scatterguns build for close range have massive stopping power.
Epsilon is the backup for the backup. They have the most powerful weapons Government money can buy. These five soldiers are the best of the best, hardened from many years of service. They are equipped with the Techwan Heavy Assault Power Armour, the LryArms Nitro Mk 3500 Armageddon Heavy Incineration Cannon, and an Advanced HUD. Their armour is incredibly powerful, lending them massively increased physical strength and resistance at the cost of mobility. Their HUD is the same as a Beta soldier's, but their weapon is what stands out. It is considered the most powerful weapon in modern times. This incendiary behemoth fires a one-hundred foot long jet of white-hot flame, and has a secondary firing mode to fire massive human-sized balls of napalm. Deadly.

Notes/Rules:
Alpha is primarily for trusted people.
Epsilon is only for extremely trusted people.
Everyone is human.
No ubering or godmodding.
Story RPing required.
Good grammar and spelling required.
Common sense is a good thing.
Act realistic.
Denura has slightly lower gravity than Earth, so you can jump slightly higher.
If it's not on the rules, and goes against common sense, don't do it.
Note that there are three of each squad, the exception being Epsilon. So put Alpha1, Alpha2, Beta1, etc, etc.
Five soldiers to a squad, and one squad leader who I will control. Epsilon has no leader, as the people in it are more hardened than the leaders of each group are.

Name: Isaac Asholt.
Gender: Male.
Age: 35.
Position: Alpha1.
Likes: Exploration. The serenity of nature. Reading. Drawing.
Dislikes: The space station. The other recon squads.
Appearance: Isaac is pretty average, physically. He stands at seven feet, with a slender build that is neither muscular or fat. His hair is dirty blond, his eyes hazel, and he has a fairly average complexion. He has no facial hair. His face holds a curious but intelligent look.
Bio: One of the newbie soldiers taken on the Hope mission. He received all of his training on the ship, thus he is an Alpha Scout. He dislikes his job, but figures it will be an excellent opportunity to take pictures (using a LensCam, basically a contact lens that takes pictures when you blink twice in rapid succession) and learn more about the environment before it is torn apart by his fellows. |
