"bench 200 lbs"
lol not even i can do this |
|

Really?
I didn't know if that was setting it too high or too low. I was thinking 150 would be better for me, but set the bar high fam. |

you should be working out and studying not for arbitrary goals or results but for the process themselves, for humans are social creatures and are thus obligated to do their best everyday in daily life

Cheesey, you're telling me you're not gonna push yourself harder to get into michigan U? |
|
|
Yes
I'm going to do my best to reach a set goal, and hopefully surpass it |

the only thing within my control is my work
whether i get into the school is irrelevant, i can only control what i do and the work i put in, if i get accepted, that's great, if i don't, that's great too
>I'm going to do my best to reach a set goal, and hopefully surpass it
you shouldn't do things to reach a goal, you should do things because it's the right thing to do

Ignore mac, you're not obligated to do anything and he's going on an existential tangent
200 lb bench is a BIT high considering you're ~130 lbs. More realistic would be to improve your current bench by 30 lbs by the end of the year. |

I just know I have friends that can bench 200. My goal will be 140. |

i'm 165 and i can get 185 for about 2 maybe 3. and thats from intense workouts from when i played football. i work out pretty much everyday. getting up 200 is a very high aspiration believe me ive tried to push it |

are you an incoming freshman? you might want to try out track. a sub 6 isnt that great but depending on your state/city/school you could get on the team.

@Inploded
I had a 5:45 mile in 8th grade. If I had seriously trained for high school would I have been a good runner? |
|
|
did you run it on a track/officially?
but i would have literally bet that you could sub 5 if you joined your track + cross country team.
i ran no faster than a 6 in 8th grade (never got an official time, but definitely not sub 6)
i ran a 5:30 at the end of 9th grade cross country season (fall)
i ran a 4:57 at the end of 9th grade [outdoor] track season (spring)
a sub 5 for a freshman in CA isn't AMAZING, but it's definitely good. it got me top 5 on my team, and 10th place at my league finals meet.
