Cuz they are classic. Look at it this way.
Nintendo makes a game. A rare game. Only 2000 are made. These copies are worth a lot. 10 years later Nintendo starts selling it again. 50000 copies are made. The original rare ones are now worth $20. Do you think it is fair for the original rare copy owners that it is resold and now everyone has it?

Except those old hats aren't limited, and selling accounts is illegal, so they're just collectibles. It'd still be nice if we got some of them though, since half of those old accounts are inactive.

Well they should be happy they at least have the hat, that's so selfish of them if they're angry over a pixel object going on sale. I'm upset because I can't exactly make my avatar how I want on this game because everything is off sale.

The new stuff is pointless to me, none of it fitting for my avatar, I'd rather have old items that actually look nice, like Alien Airbreather, Triple Snipe Bot, or Dark Reaper.

here is another example.
Say you and 19 other people get this cool hat and noone else. You brag to all of your friends that you have it and it makes you feel special. 1 year later roblox puts it up for sale and 100,000 people buy it. then the hat is not that special b/c almost everyone has it.

Well, those people are selfish for bragging, and they're selfish for wanting to horde the item for themselves, this about avatar immersion, not how special your pixel item is.
