TexafyJoin Date: 2014-06-10 Post Count: 3559 |
literally nothing
it's been rotting for two decades
the city was going to demolish it a few years back but the citizens of Houston voted against it in a referendum and now they don't really know what to do with it. the most popular idea is to turn it into an amusement park |

What the hell
Tear down that piece of crap |

Just tear it down like we did with the Metrodome |

"The NRG Astrodome,[4] also known as the Houston Astrodome, is the world's first multi-purpose, domed sports stadium, located in Houston, Texas. Construction on the stadium began in 1962, and it officially opened in 1965. It served as the second home to the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB) from its opening in 1965 until 1999, and the home to the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL) from 1968 until 1996, and also the part-time home of the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1971 until 1975. Additionally, the Astrodome was the primary venue of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo from 1966 until 2002. When opened, it was named the Harris County Domed Stadium and was nicknamed the "Eighth Wonder of the World".[5]
While originally utilizing a natural grass playing surface, the Astrodome became the first major sports venue to feature artificial turf, which became known as AstroTurf. In another technological first, the Astrodome featured the "Astrolite", which was the first animated scoreboard. The Astrodome received considerable renovations in 1988 that significantly expanded seating, and altered many original features." |

Wow what a great job of copy and pasting! |
|
|
Since it has been used for football
Use it for football again, for championship games
Even for a college/Uni near there.

"NRG Stadium is better"
oh wow, really???
you're telling me the stadium built in 2002 is better than the one built in 1962 that hasn't been used in 20 years? |
|
|
No one calls the Astrodome the 8th wonder of the world lmao

Unless the UNESCO steps in and makes it some sort of World Heritage site, it's going to be demolished. |
|
|
So?
You could still use it, people would love to play on it if it was one of the most historical stadiums.
Same as above for fans. People would love to watch games from there. Though it'd cost tons of money to rebuild it and make it able to hold a lot of fans. |

i've never heard it either, but i also don't follow football or baseball or literally any houston sports, so why would i? he obviously proved it is, or at least was known as the 8th wonder of the world.
