Mankind DIvided is really gud, its just fans are being crybabys because of preorder dlc and the fact consoles got the game one day early.

it's really easy to see when a game/movie is not doing cyberpunk right, mainly because it simply spams neon banners with japanese characters everywhere, adds an attractive chick and a badass-looking main character with some ridiculous police brutality and woo! cyberpunk!

neon, rain, damp streets, huge buildings, that's the cyberpunk aesthetic
true cyberpunk relies on philosophy, which Deus Ex Human Revolution had (i expect DXMD to at least have that, nor was I complaining about that)
Cyberpunk 2077 is just the aesthetic, and considering how they flash it, i bet they did just like you did and googled cyberpunk and went with that for their game style. |

it's more of using low effort/cliche cyberpunk and hyping up the game vs making something unique within the cyberpunk genre (like mirror's edge catalyst i suppose, since the parkour and vivid colors are pretty unique though im not all too sure if its cyberpunk or not) |

Mirror's Edge is an excellent example of a dystopia because it's the first one with vivid colours. the grace of a dystopia is that it's hidden - invisible (like Deus Ex's), and Mirror's Edge hides it behind colours and light, it's an extraordinary concept.
then you have Cyberpunk 2077 who visited the cyberpunk TvTropes page and just got all the clichés it could and sticked them together in a game that may be good, but definetely not for its originality. |
