So, say you're starting fresh You're not some "cult leader" and you don't have much experiance, nor cash You got your logo, uni, and places And the plaza is just not that efficent for recruitment! It's just a bunch of people that join your group for the uniform funds, then run with it ( Generally ) Anyway, you want to grow your group, but you don't have a small loan of a million dollars (dead meme) to run ads, For starters, PM bots. Pros of PM botting: Efficent Minimal effort Can get you about 10-30 members daily Cons: Horrible quality members Having to deal with people who rage at your PMs I would recommand this if you're starting out FRESH, and just need a good base amount of members Now, this is a method i would recommand after you reach about 6 people coming to events from your PM botting In-game recruitment I will explain this method more in-depth, so, say you're an FPS group You should go to an FPS game, and invite people to join, Don't just do it in an anouncement sort of way, "interact" with the players you think are good, you can either, act like you're "selectively" picking the best, or just make it sound like a "special invite" Now, this method is good if your group won't be strict ( PS; don't make a strict group, make sure everyone's having fun, alot of leaders forget this, TDE's rules http://forum.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=196220971 should explain where your "limit" of discipline should ben so that your members are still having fun but not being immature ) Now, don't stick around too much in each server, hop from server to another, maybe get some of the other members to help out, too ( multiple ones in a single server won't be of much use) Pros of this method: Medium-pace recruitment Medium effort-time consumption Medium to great quality members Cons: The obvious difference in effort from PM botting Possibility of getting immature members You might get into arguments(just ignore the people who say that you're "annoying" them) The above methods are VERY useful to the clan community, since you will be introducing new people to the dieing clan world Now, for the final method, VERY SELECTIVE RECRUITMENT Say you don't have much of a problem at rallying anymore, and you want to get some mlg noscopers into your group (kill me) Basically, what you have to do is, look around for raids that are happening ( look out for wars too ) Enter the server as a spectator, and watch everyone's KDR, pick anyone from medium to top of the leaderboard Write their names down, then PM them telling them that their skills impressed you at the raid ( specify where it happened so that the recipent knows that you actually spectated him ) And tell them that they should "concider" (keyword) joining your group. A good method of writing these type of invites is, telling them what your group is NOT, for example, if you do not lead a "disciplined" group, this is what you should say:"If you're looking for a disciplined group, ______ is not for you, i don't like misleading people" There are other methods to do this aside from crashing into raids un-invited, but you must have details so that they know you didn't randomly pick them, Pros VERY good quality members Cons Members may not be as loyal They have a low chance of joining This is a VERY slow process and requires alot of people doing it at once With that said I am not a very experienced leader but i can assure you that these methods work Just don't go around making a stupid VAK clone like Corlanius, and using methods like "oh my group is a big deal, join" ( don't fall for it his group is trash ) Experienced leaders, please tell me if i said anything wrong, and give me your feedback!
