Let's say theoretically the Marlins somehow knew that Fernandez was going to die within the next week, okay? They would have obviously traded him for something good, right?
Since it is impossible to predict the future, Fernandez died and the Marlins got literally nothing and no compensation.
Now do you guys see my point?
