The reason they can't really hide the assets is because they not only use that link to actually let you see outfits and stuff, but the ability to utilize that link in studio is needed for developers. |

or just create a separate asset for clothing and don't allow those to be downloaded or viewed

Having a small percentage of people steal clothing is nothing compared to the annoyance it will cause for having to deal with whatever system Roblox will put in place. |
