0.999999... Is an infinite decimal expansion. That being said, 0.999999... = 1 - 10^-∞.
What's 10^-∞? Exactly, that's 0. What's 1 - 0? Exactly, that's 1.
Therefore, 3/3 = 1 - 10^-∞ = 1.

...Ok, replace every 10^-∞ with lim(x→∞) 10^-x.
Yeah, that's an actual thing used in mathematics, regardless of if you think ∞ isn't a number or not.
