Copy Cat Policy

Because who needs serious titles all the time right?
It’s come to the attention of the management team and myself as of recent that we have had multiple clans requesting, already in, or declined clans into WCoR due to them being a ‘copy cat’ of another clan. So how do we define a copy cat?
Many copy cat clans can be extremely blatant, taking the name of a popular clan and using it as their own, using the same uniforms, guidelines, ranks, and even the logo. What we’d like to achieve when we do our acceptance process is to take a closer look into each clan. Normally we would use our reference guide for the basic requirements, input them into the spreadsheet, and then accept them. From now on, we will be making sure that we inspect further, to avoid having both the blatant copies and the ones we have to dig for not accepted into WCoR. This is not going to be an automated process and it will be done at the discretion of our management team.
If a clan has somehow slipped through the cracks, which can happen every now and again, feel free to send us a PM letting us know, and we will begin the removal process. Depending on the amount of workload of the day, the process may take less than an hour to investigate and acted upon.

TC will most likely change as essentially "Cobra" and a name isn't a copyright.
If TC was literal

With everything the exact same, then yes. But I know they aren't. The removal process for this is very conditional. |

Allow me to create a few examples:
Groups like this will not be accepted:
-A recreated VAK, same assets used, we have a live example that many people are aware of already.
-Groups that steal assets without the permission of the creator(s), or have formed a formal complaint.
Groups that would be accepted: (Also assuming they meet the base requirements)
Tad's Cobras, Federation of Arcadia, etc. Why?
TC is more of a variation, as to my current knowledge, they do not copy or steal the assets of John's Cobras. Anybody can make a clan named _______ Cobras, they could make "War Cobras" or other variations and be accepted if they have no stolen assets.
FoA has been considered a tricky case, and that's why we added the clause of being done at our manager's discretion. While they do use, if I recall, the TGI uniforms or similar uniforms to them, as well as a base, they had the permission of the clan leader they used the assets from.
If it comes to a head, we will always review and investigate and take community input, we want WCoR to be shaped by you guys, most of the decisions are guided by the community as it is.
If you have another way of going about it, be my guest, speak your mind and we will consider using it.
