This Document is designed to help you understand the Radio Codes Etc for the South Australia Police.
Code 1: Very Urgent Matter- Imminent risk of death: Proceed lights AND sirens
Code 2: Urgent Matter: Risk of injury to person or property: Proceed lights AND sirens
Code 3: Routine Job: Proceed Normal Traffic Conditions. Lights and Sirens are NOT to be used for Code 3. Not up to Officer's discretion.
NOTE: Code 1 and Code 2 get the same response. It just indicates the risk and urgency of the matter. It does not mean the crew drives quicker on code 1 than code 2.
CALLSIGNS:
100s-RDO/DDO (NOT USED)
200s-General Duties Patrols
300s-Vans
400s-General Duties Shift Supervisors
500s-CIB and JAB
600s-Scenes of Crime, Police Liason Officers
700s-Tactical Crime Squad (700s: Bomb Squad, SERT, Railway Squad etc. Must have the title of "Tango")
800s-Beat Units
900s-District Traffic Branch/AIS
Other Terminology:
GD - General Duty Unit
CIB - Criminal Investigation Branch
JAB - Juvenile Aid Branch.
VKR is the Code name for the State-Wide Dispatch for South Australia, so instead of saying Dispatch, you say VKR.
General Duty Units (normal units) can have any alphanumerical NATO alphabetical title, but must have a number between 200-300.
The rest is self-explanitory.

Before you Begin your patrol, you must sign on.
The following is an Example Dialog between Dispatch and the Unit for shift starting. The stuff seperated by - does not get said, and the unit: or dispatch: does not get said either.
Unit: Bravo 250 - The unit is calling VKR.
Dispatch: Bravo 250, Go Ahead - VKR telling Bravo 250 that your allowed to go ahead with your details.
Unit: Bravo 250, Signing on. 1100 to 1700. - Bravo 250, signing on. You may randomise the shift times to whatever you desire. So Instead of 1100 to 1700 you could have 900 to 1300 or something else.
Dispatch: Copy that, showing you on. 11:07. - VKR Telling Bravo 250 that they have signed on for the shift.

Throughout your Patrol, you may be dispatched to a call. The following is an example dialogue between VKR and a GD unit.
The following is an Example Dialog between Dispatch and the Unit for shift starting. The stuff seperated by - does not get said, and the unit: or dispatch: does not get said either.
Dispatch: Bravo 250, Priority Code 3 Job Details when Ready - VKR telling Bravo 250 that there is a Code 3 Job that's been assigned to he/she and he/she can choose to accept or deny.
Bravo 250: Go Ahead, VKR. - Bravo 250 telling VKR that they are allowed to go ahead with the Job Details.
Dispatch: 'Informant' reports of 2 people entering Caboolture State School, Informant say's he's part of the School Watch Program. - VKR telling Bravo 250 of the Job Details.
Bravo 250: Roger that, Responding Priority Code 3 off of Spencer street. - The unit has accepted the job and is Enroute to the scene.
And now after the callout:
Bravo 250: Bravo 250 - Bravo 250 Calling VKR
Dispatch: Go Ahead, Bravo 250 - VKR Telling Bravo 250 that he's permitted to speak.
Bravo 250: Yeah, nothing here. Show me on. - Asking VKR to show Bravo 250 back on patrol.
Dispatch: Copy that, showing you on at 11:18. - VKR telling Bravo 250 that he's now being shown on the map as back on patrol at that time.
And then it's the same kind of thing for Priority Code 2 and 1 Callouts.

Throughout your Patrol, you may encounter Civilian-Occupied cars that you wish to investigate, but before you pull over, you must check the number plate with Dispatch.
The Owner of the may have some history on their record.
Say for example, Bob Billy Wagon has a Green Flag for Violence.
Seeing as Bob Billy Wagon has a Green Flag, it means he served his punishment more than 2 years ago.
Say for Example, Bob Billy Wagon didn't have a flag, but Violence was recorded. That means he did not serve some kind of punishment and most likely payed a fine of some sorts.
Say for Example, Jane Doe had an Amber Flag for Violence, that means she served her punishment more than 1 year ago. And that she may still have violent tendencies. If the person has an amber flag, you must be careful.
Say for Example, Louie Fly a Red Flag for Violence, that means she served her punishment recently, probably earlier this year. If a person has a Red Flag, you should be very cautious of this person.
Once you have enough details on the person, you may pull them over.
This is an example dialogue of what I just explained:
Bravo 250: Bravo 250, Number Plate Details when ready.
Dispatch: Go Ahead, Bravo 250. - VKR telling Bravo 250 go ahead with his Details of the numberplate.
Bravo 250: 2 7 7 Sierra Tango Victor, 277 STV. - Bravo 250 explaining the numbers and letters in the NATO Alphabet.
- Please use the NATO Alphabet if you can. That is explained further down.
Dispatch: Stand by, Bravo 250. - Telling Bravo 250 to wait while she gets the information.

After the Pull-Over:
Bravo 250: Bravo 250 - Bravo 250 calling VKR.
Dispatch: Go Ahead, Bravo 250 - Dispatch telling Bravo 250 to go ahead with speaking his details.
Bravo 250: The Car was pulled over for Speeding. I let her go with a warning though as we are in a Rough area and there is no signage of the Speed Limit, Show me on. - Asking VKR to show him back on patrol.
Dispatch: Copy that, showing you on at 11:31. - VKR has now shown Bravo 250 as back on Patrol.
