Houston can't make it in without at least two of the top 5 teams losing regardless of how they perform.
Houston needs one slip-up by Alabama, Clemson, or Washington. Of the three, Washington is going to have the hardest time avoiding it. The Pac-12 is an absolute ##### and there's no cakewalks (except oregon state). Clemson will also have to deal with FSU, which they should unless FSU remembers how to play properly.
Sure, Alabama has the toughest schedule of them all, but they have experience and are without a doubt the best team in college football. I, like any rational non-Alabama fan, want to see them be eliminated from the playoffs, but we'll see.
Good news for Houston is one of OSU and Michigan are guaranteed to lose, but the playoff committee may not knock the loser of their game out of the playoffs if they're both still ranked in the top 4 when they play, especially if the game is close and even more so if it goes to OT. If it's a blowout then one will be gone for sure though.
