I've been on Roblox for quite some time now, and the last non sponsored event I remember was Hallows Eve '14, that's 2 years ago!
I think It's fair to say that the roblox made events were a lot better, and the prizes were more rewarding. I'll give some background info for some of the people that haven't been on Roblox quite as long and haven't experienced the fun of a roblox made event.
The '14 Hallows Eve event was a smashing event, it had 24 hour stream, cool hats, cool story, a cool game. You'd throw Candy at a set of enemies (different for each map) and you'd earn hats if a boss would spawn, sounds simple, exactly.
Now we have to go to "Have fun in beachtown", if we're being honest 80% of this games visits are from sponsored events, the other 20% are newer members who typically haven't explored Roblox much.
The last few events have been bad, like really bad. Teen Titans, and some other nonsense.
I think if we went back to non sponsored events for some events (not all) Roblox could still be making profit. You cannot say the site didn't earn anything for 8 years when they made events.
I think if this gains enough traction we could possible have a possibility of a non sponsored Easter event (nearest) as the Christmas one was always a scattered one. |
