Hi everyone
so about three months or so ago around I dyed my hair a dark chocolate brown (an example would be Michelle Dockery's hair color). And at first I didn't really like it, but it half-way grew on me. I like it about the same as I did my natural color (light brown/dark blonde), it's waist length. And I thought I'd try a darker color for Fall which was coming up fairly soon.
But before I dyed my hair I got complements on it literally like three or four times a week from complete strangers (and a few more from friends and family), but ever since I dyed it, I've not received one complement from a stranger on my hair (literally). My friends complemented it because I dyed it (but they looked a little shocked, and didn't seem to really like it too much from what I could tell). I know I'm not relying on complements or anything obviously, it's just I feel like I might have kinda ruined my hair because of it, should I dye it back? Everyone used to say my hair was my best feature, so hopefully you can understand my concern.
Would you dye it a different colour? I think maybe since it's so dark it just kinda makes it blend in more and it doesn't really stand out so much. I've heard people say it makes my skin look brighter and nicer, but I like my hair being my best feature and I want to know if people just don't find dark hair as interesting or if it just doesn't look as good on me as light hair. It's just so weird to me, I've literally always gotten complements on it, and to all of a sudden not get any anymore at all, it kinda shocked me. Again, I don't rely on complements at all, I don't really care. It's just I wanna look my best, ya know?
What's your suggestion? Dye it a different color? My hair just kinda feels dead now, it just sorta sits there. It used to have more life I think maybe when it was lighter. What do you guys think? If it helps, my eye color is green and I have pale/typical skin (kinda michelle dockery's skin tone too, I look kinda a lot like her besides the eye color).
People still tell me I look nice fairly regularly, but not on my hair. |
