So I've decided to start reviewing games from the 80's and 90's. I'm starting off with one of my favorites, as the title says. So, without further ado, here goes the review.
Mega Man X was a very, very enjoyable game. It was also an amazing addition to the Mega Man franchise, with all of the new things inside. It had the 'Eight Bosses' gimmick, like that of the original series (With the first MegaMan being an exception, due to it having only six bosses), as well as an amazing soundtrack. The character designs were very robotic, as the designs showed the parts more clearly than the original series did.
The story-line is extremely similar to the original series, as well as the way the game is played. It's got some changes, though.
The game adds armor and weapon upgrades, as well as the ability to wall jump. In the sequels, it adds more abilities.
As for the bosses, they ranged from Easy, to Hard (I'm looking at you, Armored Armadillo...). The easiest boss being Chill Penguin, and the Hardest being Armored Armadillo, even though I mostly die to Sting Chameleon. The bosses have different personalities, as seen in the remake of the game, which is known as Maverick Hunter X.
I give this game a rating of 9/10, due to its gameplay, it's game mechanics, and the overall enjoy-ability. |
