"I'd still say we're top 5 in the world" Probably. Still major problems though. Like you said, healthcare sucks, and education isn't great. Big thing for me is that Trudeau seems to think that a communist dictator Let's put it this way. There's no "great" country in the world right now. There are first world countries significantly better than others because they recognize basic human freedoms, such as the right to privacy, and the right to choose(everything from political opinion to what kind of bread they buy), and the right to freely express oneself. Countries which most freely give those rights (U.S., U.K., etc.) tend to be better not only in quality of living, but also in general productivity and significance. Countries which heavily restrict those rights are obviously trash (looking at you, china). It's a big reason why I align conservatively. In my opinion, modern conservatism is the most likely system to be implemented that will guarantee those human rights. And certainly there are situations where that is the exact opposite of what actually happens(for example, the right to choose what gender you marry), the overall trend, especially among young conservatives, is that human rights of the individual will prevail, and in my opinion, as time goes on and older forms of conservatism kinda die off, the newer conservatism will take much larger hold and it will be a much more socially open than it is now. As a person who heavily values his individuality above almost everything else, that really speaks to me. My issue with modern liberalism is that while it's great in extending social equality rights(right to be oriented/marry whoever you like, right to do whatever you want with your body, civil rights for m############they're extraordinarily restrictive on rights which affect EVERYONE and are significantly more important to individuality than furthering the extent of expression in a country where strides over the past 15 years has pushed it as far as it needs to go legally. Take gun control, for an example. The right for someone to defend their rights and their person isn't constitutional, it's natural. Your individuality guarantees that you have as much at your disposal to defend yourself as someone else has to harm you, and that's that. The 2nd amendment isn't just intended to make sure people can protect themselves against muggers, though. The big idea is power. Ask yourself: Why doesn't the United States Government just force everyone to comply with the president and become a dictatorship? Did you just scoff at the idea of it? Most people do, because the reasonable response is "300 million people won't just get rolled over like that." But what prevents us from getting tossed to the bottom of the pit? Well, here's a hint, we all have power. Right now, it sits in the fact that we are able to participate to a heavy extent in politics. From voting to taking high political office, just about every US citizen has a decent amount of power in this country. But what guarantees that power is the fact that we can defend our individuality. If the president tried to pull a coup, he'd get steamroll out of office. Firearms protect against tyranny. Individual rights protect against tyranny. THAT'S why individual rights are important. And you see exactly what happens in african american communities such as Ferguson or Baltimore or Charlotte when individual rights are restricted, even in a de facto way. If you're African American, and you're pulled over by a police officer one of those communities, there's a very real possibility that your individual rights can be tossed out, and the government can blatantly oppress you. And then SOCIALISM and COMMUNISM come around. Two extremely liberal economic/socio-political ideologies. They're pretty modern in comparison to other ideologies, as well. They sound pretty good on paper. Free healthcare, free education, everybody's equal. But in practice, that sucks. In addition to multi-month waits on life-or-death medical treatment, low quality equal education, and everybody living equal on a very low level, the government in countries with these systems can just go ahead and do whatever it wants "in the name of equality", and without individuality, you're absolutely helpless to stop them if they, say, want to toss you into a prison for speaking out on an issue. I have no problem with classic liberalism. But recently, classic liberalism has turned into modern conservatism, and modern liberalism has been shifting dangerously close towards totalitarian ideologies. (sorry, got on a huge rant about why people like trudeau and obama sux. my b. )-:)

""Justin Trudeau supported a commie's efforts of killing many who didn't follow him aka fidel castro" No he doesn't, but aight. lol" Yes he absolutely does? He gave a surprisingly positive eulogy about Castro today. Let's see his official statement: "“It is with deep sorrow that I learned today of the death of Cuba’s longest serving President. “Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. A legendary revolutionary and orator, Mr. Castro made significant improvements to the education and healthcare of his island nation. “While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for “el Comandante”. “I know my father was very proud to call him a friend and I had the opportunity to meet Fidel when my father passed away. It was also a real honour to meet his three sons and his brother President Raúl Castro during my recent visit to Cuba. “On behalf of all Canadians, Sophie and I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and many, many supporters of Mr. Castro. We join the people of Cuba today in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.”" If you don't call that support, you're as blind as a bat, and if you think any of his praise about how Castro did "wonders" for Cuban society are legitimate, ###### ## ###### Try telling that to my aunt or any one of the 1.1 million cuban exiles living in the United States right now who had to leave Cuba during the late 1900's in order to escape him imprisoning and killing political opponents who did as little as speak out against a single one of his policies. And yes, Trump has shown support for Putin. Which imo is an issue. But considering how few people both in his current administration setup and in the congress he will share power with agree with him, I doubt it will make a yuge difference. I'm not exactly a fan of trump, either, but frankly, Trudeau's complete innacuracy and blindness to Castro's actions is significantly worse than Trump's praise of Putin's actions which have some decent accuracy (While his statements focus on true aspects of Putin's leadership of Russia, they ignore the many negative covert aspects.)

no one has better healthcare than the United States because in the US you have to PAY for it. And because you have to PAY for it out of your own pocket (even with health insurance, you're paying for a portion of it most likely), the quality of it is better as there is more money funneling through the system. so yeah, even though canada and other socialist nations have free healthcare, it isnt necessarily good healthcare because its supplemented by the government from tax payer money, but only a small portion of it
