For once there were no upsets this week. Baylor continued its dominance over Kansas 35-20 and clinched the Southern Region (#1 seeed) after an amazing 7-0 start. TCU set the conference record for most points scored against Texas, racking up 75 points (compared to Texas' 44) and also clinched a playoff spot, wrapping up the playoff picture for the Southern Region. Oklahoma State won yet another tight one against West Virginia to take back control of the Mountain Region, and Iowa State got the easy W against Kansas State. It's now time for another week of Power Rankings. Let's get to it! #1 Baylor Bears [7-0] CHANGE: -- Baylor stays at #1 for the 7th consecutive week after displaying yet another amazing performance against Kansas. Kansas was up against Baylor for a while, but Baylor was able to fight back and clinch the Southern Region with an impressive 7-0 record. Jones_Drew had another impressive start at QB and his roster seems more talented than ever. This team now takes on a 1-6 Kansas State team, and I expect a HUGE blowout. Maybe they'll beat TCU's record of 75 points scored in a game. Speaking of TCU... #2 TCU Horned Frogs [5-2] CHANGE: +1 TCU continues to be on the rise. After a 75-44 blowout against Texas, this team clinched a playoff spot and will face Texas Tech in the wildcard game. Ray_WestXI have over 3 receiving TDs, and IKazuHD had over 6 passing TDs. Not only that, but they got 2 safeties against Texas. Overall, this team made Texas look silly. They now take on Oklahoma in what could possibly be the game of the year. A win against Oklahoma will continue TCU's hot streak and give them tremendous momentum heading into the playoff. #3 Oklahoma Sooners [5-2] CHANGE: -1 No need to panic, Oklahoma. You guys only dropped a spot due to TCU's slaughter-fest against Texas. BigXXVI is looking to take control of the Mountain Region and possibly clinch the #1 seed with a tight race against Oklahoma State. This team continues to add amazing talent, but it's down to if their players show up. ImRandyMoss continues to dominate at QB and Fear_Ameer looks to be a potential RBOTY canidate. BigXXVI looked good against West Virginia with 3 receiving TDs, and this team's defense continues to dominate. They now take on TCU, which is a must win in terms of clinching the #1 spot in the Mountain Region. #4 Oklahoma State Cowboys [5-2] CHANGE: -- Another breather for Oklahoma State. They escaped West Virginia 32-20 and took back control of the Mountain Region. They had their backs against the wall following a slaughter by Iowa State and were able to show up. With less than a minute to go, this team was down 30-29 and kicked a ## to take the 32-29 lead. West Virginia then threw up a bomb that hit the grass before it even got near the players. Oklahoma State now takes on a somewhat struggling Kansas team in hopes of keeping their #1 seed. #5 Iowa State Cyclones [4-3] CHANGE: +1 Iowa State continues to be on the rise after a blowout against Kansas State. This team has had some key wins such as beating TCU and Oklahoma State. Texas Tech was unable to beat both of those teams just recently mentioned, so that's why Iowa State is over them. This team now takes on Texas, who just gave up 75 points to TCU. With such a good offense, I see Iowa State racking up a ton of points. #6 Texas Tech Red Raiders [4-3] CHANGE: -1 No need to worry, Texas Tech. You have your playoff, you have your roster, and you have a date with West Virginia this week. Texas Tech takes on TCU in the playoff and might have some troubles due to them losing to TCU just last week. Don't sleep on West Virginia, but at the same time Texas Tech has the offense to outlast West Virginia's struggling D. If Texas Tech loses this week, their momentum going into the playoff will be weakened. #7 West Virginia Mountaineers [2-5] CHANGE: -- West Virginia had the lead against Oklahoma State with a minute to go, but they couldn't stop Oklahoma State's amazing offense. They gave Oklahoma State enough room to kick a ## and were unable to capitalize with a last-second hailmary. This team looks good, but not good enough for the playoffs. They are eliminated with an Iowa State win or if they lose to Texas Tech this week. West Virginia needs to pray that Iowa State loses out, and they win out to barely get into the playoff. #8 Kansas Jayhawks [1-6] CHANGE: -- Another week, another loss for Kansas. This week: to Baylor. Kansas looked good for the most part starting off the game, and even got a pick-6 off of Jones_Drew. They were unable to capitalize and hold onto their lead and lost to Baylor. This team now looks for a possible rebuild for S2 and looking ahead to Bowl Week in a month. #9 Kansas State Wildcats [1-6] CHANGE: -- Nothing much to say about Kansas State. They couldn't escape with a win against Iowa State, and fell down to 1-6 to dig an even deeper hole for this team. They now look for a rebuild and have the roster to do so. Next season, Kansas State will be good if they keep this somewhat talented roster. #10 Texas Longhorns [1-6] CHANGE: -- Texas lost 75-44. They gave up 75. Not only is that a record in the Big 12, but it's also quite humiliating. This team didn't seem prepared at all against TCU, and their defense was hopeless. Their offense seemed okay for the most part, despite mostly all passes being screens. Texas is officially eliminated from the playoff, and they now look to rebuild for S2 after an awful season.
