“Beginning of our End”
In the aftermath of the destruction, “Old Era” countries fell, but their technology and structures they leave behind are still useable. In the rubble of the Northern part of the old United States and Southern part of Canada, a new community was being formed. This first started as a scavenging pack, known as “The Epitome Militia” or usually called “TEMmies”. Years after the “End of our Beginning”, the United States government couldn’t maintain the needs of the people, and the Famine didn’t allow the people to revolt but the Government couldn’t control how production of the country or defend effectively against raiders or bandits. The Government slowly lost power, and in areas that it couldn’t govern, the people had to fend for themselves. In the very rural parts of the Northern United States, TEMmies took power. Using pre-war technology and recruiting pre-war soldiers from both Canada and the US, TEMmies started to look more and more like the best choice as a new country. More that the United States collapsed, more land the TEMmies acquired. All the way to 2087, these TEMmies renamed themselves to “The Epitome Union”, as it is a union of territories that the United States left. In 2091 the United States government gave up all control, then the EU seized the United States non-violently. From the United States collapsing, and the military being taken over by a new country, overseas US forces got very much confused to weather serve under this new country or stay “American”. The EU carried the American spirit and ordered any overseas Soldiers to return home, if they can. As more US Soldiers came back, the EU became stronger, and had an effective Navy at its disposal. The EU soon spread across Canada and Norther Mexico, making it a large country on the North American continent. The EU soon stopped growing after taking Alaska in 2096, and focused to handle the land it has before expanding, due to the civilians it must care for. The EU/Old US Navy sailed to Europe to spread the news of the new nation, but found many other nations still in disarray. The EU first assisted the remains of Ireland, UK, Spain, Portugal, and France. Opening trade and sending EU Naval ships to patrol the coasts by Ireland and UK’s permission. Soon these countries started the fall. The EU forces around Portugal went into the country to try and find its leaders and bring them to safety, just to find civilians in need and a fallen capital. The EU took control of Portugal, and soon Spain for the same reasons. Then the EU took Ireland, as Ireland agreed to become part of the EU as its own independent state of the union. By 2100, the EU is a large nation spanning over continents, and has the old remains of the US Military with it. But by early 2014, the EU started up its production on Algae Fuel Facilities and Nuclear Fission plants, which started to power factories, bring jobs and communities together rather quickly, and new weapons and vehicles are being made for the EU’s Military and help fuel cities, allowing better protection for the entire country.
