I've noticed a certain flaw with the developer product system... you're required to create a developer product, set it's cost to a predetermined value, and then sell only the products you have created. This works great for things like coin pack purchases, one time boosters, and other such things, but imagine this:
Suppose I'm making an RPG and I want to add a way to buy level-ups. Obviously I'd want to charge more for going from level 50-51 than to 1-2. I'd also want to charge less for someone 90% of the way to a levelup than I would want to charge someone at 10%. This does not work with the current developer product system.
Instead, I think it would be better if we could designate developer products as "Variable Price", and then, in an in-game script, decide the price of the product at purchase time. That way the game can variably set the price depending on the relative value of the product.
C'mon guys, this is a rare non-troll idea that isn't whining about an update or trying to ask for 53 extra genders, can we get some support? |
