I've been playing Roblox for almost a Decade now, and I can surely tell you that they're making the wrong choices. The site just doesn't seem as fun as it once was, and the game selection just doesn't seem to appeal to myself as it used to. I liked it back when there were unique events such as contests, and when the games were much more simpler. One of my favorite games back in the day was Survive the Disasters, the one by at the time user TheFurryFox. Game here: ########################################################### It was something new that hadn't been seen before, and it sure was successful. I remember looking through the Games tab sometime around late 2009 early 2010, and seeing this game. And it made me think, hey this doesn't look too bad, let's try it out! So of course, I did. And let me tell you, I literally played that game for hours upon hours. I was younger at the time, so of course I had my limits on how long I was allowed to use my PC, but in the time that I was, it was spent playing that game. Another game I think I should mention is Destroy The Wall. Game here: https://www.roblox.com/games/426912/Destroy-the-Wall-Roughly-6-Years This was yet another game that I played for hours on end, and it's one of the most simple game out there. It's yet another example of when I personally think Roblox was at it's best. It was games like these, the ones where it was simple, and they were fun to play because you were able to do just have fun goofing around. The last game I'm going to mention is Find The Domos by Planet3arth. Game here: ###################com/games/48852578/Find-the-Domos-136-Revamp Now granted, this game was never too popular, but it's another game that I always seemed to be able to keep myself occupied with for hours upon hours. It's a simple badge hunt game, but it's just the content within the game is so unique and creative, it's something I always loved. To conclude what I'm saying regarding this part of Roblox, all I'll say is it's obvious that over time the content in which something produces is going to become more detailed, better functions, and just more complications, but just keep in mind to make the game fun, and not so repetitive.
The next topic I wanted to bring up was the Hats, Gears, and Faces that are all released nowadays. Strictly in my opinion, I think that they aren't as creative and unique looking as they once were. I remember back when some of the hats that would be released were awesome looking, one in particular which I had in my hands at one point, was the Rainbow Shaggy. Hat here: https://www.roblox.com/catalog/64082730/Rainbow-Shaggy Yes this is a limited Hat, but it's still one of the prime example of creativity within the site. It took the original Shaggy, and made it something that has become one of the most desired hats on Roblox to date. Another example of a hat that I think was made at Roblox's best time is Ninja Mask of Awesome. Hat here: https://www.roblox.com/catalog/1286496/Ninja-Mask-of-Awesome This hat was once again, another re-texture, but it was unique and very creative. Maybe it's just me though, it just gives and old school roblox feel to it. And an example of a gear that I think was one of the best ones made is Black Hole Bomb. Gear hear: https://www.roblox.com/catalog/28277486/Black-Hole-Bomb This was just a gear that I found fun to use and it wasn't something I had seen before. It was one that I used all the time while playing the popular game, Catalog Heaven, and it was just an overall awesome and fun thing to use. Now on to the faces. Any of the limited faces that they made in the time range from 2009-2012 were the best. One that sticks in my mind is Camoface. Face here: https://www.roblox.com/catalog/24441888/Camoface This one is just by far one the most unique in my opinion, simply because it's got it's own special theme to it, being Camo. I feel like nowadays Roblox has started to make the faces that they produce much more simpler, and not put as much thought into them as they did when these faces were out there.
To finalize everything, no I don't think that Roblox is going to "meet it's demise" anytime soon. But I know that without a doubt it's heading in that direction. I just feel like they should think about doing some of the things they used to do back when the whole site wasn't about making money, because it feels like that's all they care about now, not even what the community thinks. One of the examples of this is when they took away tix. That occured months ago, but people are still asking for it back. I just hope that sometime in the future Roblox gets their head in the game and starts thinking about the community as well as the revenue. Then again, this is all just some small person's opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
