Hi guys, so basically im amazing
so when i was showering earlier today i thought to myself, "man roblox is just terrible, I hate it"
and i was like "I wonder why people stay here after so long, I mean
the games are all crappy
the the site is crappy
the censorship is worse than north korea
the community in general is nothing special
the dev team, like the actual admins of roblox are all horrible
every roblox update is crappy
the MODERATION IS THE WORST IVE EVER SEEN
The economy is crappy, they ruined it several times and I can recount wy
they messed up sword fighting
the prices for the virtual gear and hats is extremely expensive
so like, any one of these offenses would generally drive people to leave, let alone all of them combined if any normal game had just one of these problems
so then I realized that the thing that draws people into roblox is "social status"
everything everyone does and stays for, is social status
I post here funny posts for social status, not because it's really fun
we buy limited hats for social status
The majority of the reason builders build is the social status for the reward (but some times people just need a creative outlet)
I even sword fight for social status. I would never do this junk for fun, but I reached #1 for so long because my drive was the social status of being the best in the world
Roblox, most likely on accident, created a social status culture where people actually care about the social status on this particular game. No other games have ever done it like this before. it is extremely addictive and keeps you coming back for that social reward that tends to be quicker and easier to get than real life ones, with no risk of consequence.
Is this a bad thing? I mean a little bit
but at the end of the day you are talking to real people, it's just none of these things tend to translate to real life.

I have been on this site since late 2013 (aka 2014 I guess, check my old account Crafterboey for proof, no not for status, but proof, got some limited since e it got hacked but I luckily have it back.) Since then I still thought roblox was fun. Please remember we all have different. Viewpoints. |
