Requests for ambulance transport vary from immediate life-threatening cases to routine transfers of care. In order to ensure YAS provide the right response at the right time depending on the patient’s presenting condition, they have produced an algorithm and advice sheet to help GPs and HCPs when requesting an ambulance response. They are as follows: Life-threatening emergency (Red response standard - within 8 minutes):-RED Serious but not life-threatening emergency (Amber response standard - within 19 or 30 minutes):-AMBER Non-emergency (Green response standard - 1 to 4 hours):-GREEN This is NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the Status Codes: Status - Green - Available for Calls Status - Red - Unavailable for Calls (State reason if asked) Status - Blue - Transporting Patient to Hospital. Callsigns will be attached by a Senior Paramedic+. If there is no such person of that rank in-game, you will find out who the first person on the YAS team in-game was. The first person that was there is YA-1. Second would be YA-2 etc. If a senior paramedic+ joins, callsigns are at his/her discretion. Authorised and Signed by the Director of Yorkshire Ambulance Service on the 30/12/2016
