Section Two:
In the 22nd Special Air Service we are split up in to four sections (Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta), to be placed in to a section you must undertake a training that is being hosted and provide your skills to the Section Commanders that are there. The Section commanders are the only people under the Deputy Director Special Forces who can place any one in to a section.
In each section, there is a Commanding Officer (CO) and a Deputy Commanding Officer (XO). They are responsible for carrying out section trainings, selection training and the ranking of new members in to their section. The CO and XO can only rank new members to their section and no other sections unless the CO’s talk to each other and agree on the person to be moved to a new section.
For anyone who is to be ranked up above Section Commanders, the high rank staff must first agree that you are suitable to moved rank. Prior to this the CO must pick someone who has the skill to take over his role or hand it over to his/her XO. Once all that he/she will undertake a probation period which will be set by the Deputy Director(s).
