TABLE OF CONTENTS •Summarization •General Guidelines and Training •Flight Attendants •American Airlines Ground Services •Captains I. SUMMARIZATION This is a handbook for American Airlines staff that will aid in you becoming a greatly appreciated staff member. American Airlines has very high standards, so it is important that you follow the rules and be extremely careful when performing your job. II. GENERAL GUIDLINES These can apply for any rank. •Always obey a higher rank •Do not abuse admin in any way •The Default Package is required, no 2.0 •When boarding or TPing in any way, NEVER TP someone that is inside the plane, and make when you abbreviate, that there isn’t other names like that one (2) TRAINING As American Airlines grows, we become more strict with training. This is a result of higher expectations from our passenger base. When training, you must attend flights and training sessions to receive points towards the job you applied for. Once you reach 10 points, given by Senior Captains and Chief Financial Officer+ for doing your job correctly, you are promoted to your position. HOWEVER, if you reach 5 strikes, given by the same ranks who can give points, you will be fired. Strikes are given if you fail to follow any guideline, listed in this handbook or taught in trainings. You must be ontop of your game, because any slight mess-up can result in a strike. When you are fired, you will be put back as a passenger and cannot apply for another job until 2 weeks has passed. THIS MESSAGE IS TO RANKS WHO CAN AWARD POINTS AND STRIKES : Please send any info on points and strikes to our Chief Operational Officer, as he keeps the log. You can only award 1 point or strike at a time. Make sure to include the staff member's name, and point/strike change in the notification sent to the COO. III. FLIGHT ATTENDANTS When serving someone, you must always follow a specific order. Beverage Menu, Main Menu, then for Business, Deserts, and Premium Eco. Always be specific when giving a player a food item. If you say “:give player strawberry”, they will get various food items. Say “:give player strawberry cake” instead. IV. American Airlines GROUND SERVICES Without American Airlines Ground Services, flights wouldn’t be possible. The first thing as American Airlines Ground Services Is Check-In. When a customer approaches the desk, say a welcome sentence such as “Welcome to American Airlines, how may I help you?”. Please check if they have their ticket on, and if it is a real ticket (Economy doesn’t require a shirt, so just give them a boarding pass.), as well ask them if they are checking in any baggage, if so ask them to place it onto the conveyor. Release the baggage using the button on the desk once they have left the desk. Last thing, make sure you give the passenger the proper boarding pass. Economy gets only a boarding pass. Premium Economy, and Business get a boarding pass, as well as a lounge pass. Second part is ground utilities. You must be very careful when using utilities. The utilities include: •Stairs (Not always needed) •Jetway •Follow Me Vehicle •Catering •External Power Unit (May not have it all the time) •Cones and Chalks The stairs/jetway go up against the door of the plane. A weld brick should also be in the plane to make sure the plane doesn’t move. The Follow Me vehicle just goes ahead of the aircraft, directing it to the runway, and the aprons. The Catering vehicles will be parked at the back end of the aircraft. The External Power Source will be place around the nose of the aircraft. Cones will be places around the plane, while chalks will be carefully place around the wheels, then deleted when the plane departs. Occasionally, something goes wrong with the vehicles. Someone will go too far or something. In this case, if possible, insert the vehicle as quickly as possible. V. CAPTAINS Being a captain is an honorable and challenging occupation. Captains ranks include •Student Trainee - Captain in training, not capable •First Officer - Has some experience, and can fly when a captain is not available. •Captain - Has experience and is fully capable •Senior Captain - Most experienced and trains captains When the plane is marshaled in by a marshaler, member of American Airlines Ground Services, you must follow the marshal’s exact directions. The commands are as follow •IIII [4 capitol i's] - Continue at pace •III [3 capitol i's] - Begin slowing down, gear approaching park line •II [2 capitol i's] •I [ 1 capitol i] - Very close, prepare to hit E on X •X [x] - Your front gear are on the line, press E to turn off engines ASAP Once the plane is parked, a member of staff must place a weld brick, so that the plane does not drift out of position. Then American Airlines Ground Services will begin their apron duty. [Wheel chalks, external power, cones, and vehicles.] Once the aircraft is loaded with passengers and their luggage, departure music is played, the weld brick is removed, and pushback commences after the area is clear of vehicles and utilities. When you taxi to the runway, make sure that you are ready to slowly increase thrust as you takeoff. It is crucial that you do not make rough turns, yet fly smooth to the cruising brick. When you land on the cruising brick, gear must be down until the weld brick is placed. Then you may retract. Now that you are frozen, turn off the engines to silence them during cruise. This helps the on-board music service. When cruise is finished, gear down, engines on, freeze dummy thawed, and you proceed to your destination. Once you are lined up with the runway of the arrival airport, make sure your gear is down and the plane is slow, but not too slow that it’ll stall. When you hit the runway, lower the speed to 0. When you taxi off the runway, proceed to the assigned gate. When you reach it, the weld brick will be placed, and de-boarding will commence. Things to Keep in Mind : •Watch your thrust needle on the speed indicator. You may cause the plane to stall without you knowing. •Make sure you control the seatbelt sign accordingly. Turn it on only during cruise. The No-Smoking sign should always be on. •Never :thaw all, for you may jump, and since everyone else was already seated, you will have seat lag.
