First off, I’m aware that by the point I post this there will be numerous threads on the subject, but I’ll try to be as constructive as possible.
When I first joined ROBLOX in August of 2009, one of the first things I saw was the logo. Big white letters with a red border was etched into my head, even for the people who only played a few times the logo stuck out. The letters weren’t just in a bland font, but rather a unique graphic that you couldn’t find anywhere else.
For the past decade the ROBLOX logo has been about the same, besides a few minor changes that despite their small scale were incredibly poor received. The new logo is by no means a bad logo, but it isn’t comparable to the style and remembrance of the old one.
I understand that ROBLOX is modernising, and that it is no longer the tiny little kids game of my childhood, and I also understand that the new logo fits the new layout of the site, but is that fully necessary? Is it truly important to change what has been for over a decade?
The new logo is bland in my opinion, a typical font bolded with the letter “O” slightly tilted. It looks more like the Dell logo then the ROBLOX logo! It isn’t a bad logo, but to say is has the flare of the ROBLOX logo would be misguided.
Before I post this, I’d like to make clear that I am all for change. The new blog layout is very promising and I am looking forward to the future. Honestly even if the logo stays (which it probably will) it won’t affect me much and may even be a good choice. But I just find it pointless and so do others so I’d like it to be considered. Pro:
"Little kids that could ruin the community" will be barely seen because they will think that the logo is bland and that it must be a boring website. But then again, there are popular ROBLOX Youtubers...

Also, the logo change will most likely start to bring more mature players along with a younger audience, so that might actually be better for the company, considering that the more mature players will indeed make more content for the community, including hats for the upcoming user driven catalog.

So what if you joined in 2009? That doesn't give you special rights to determine what stays and what goes, it's like I said, changes happen. If you can't deal with changes then what are you doing?

This crummy website is going more and more downhill and if you suggested to me that the logo would look like this or that they would get rid of KOs best friends and tix and optimize DESKTOP profile loadout for mobile and Xbox I would have called you crazy in 2009.
I would fire every designer if it were up to me.
