Its cool if you do OP. I like being able to enjoy listening to music without over analyzing it so im fine not learning theory, it seems pretty useless.

i do know some but i'm by no means an expert on it the only areas where music theory seems to be of any use is if you're going to be a composer or a classical musician of some sort; for most genres of music you don't really need it imo

that depends how good or knowledgeable you want to be i'd say it's an extension for other genres and there is theory in all genres but in classical its definitely required at least basics today you really dont need to know anything about music to make music though with the technology available

point > to make/play music and do what you enjoy/do it better >maybe if you enjoy it enough and decide to make it a career you can make some money too (not a lot but so what some people have different mentalities about career choices and you should let peopel do what they want but i acknowledge the fact that thats slightly hypocritical for me to say as i just made fun of how all you seem to care about is money but nonetheless) but no matter what i say cant change your opinion all i can offer is for you to do some research into what music theory is about and what you can get out of it and if it doesnt interest you ok
