You're not going to attract new players if all you do is recruit. You need better gameplay (why not innovate swords such as adding blocking and light attacks and strong attacks) |
|
|
that's a great idea, and i'd love to try out a sword clan that actually did that as the first one to this successfully will grow beyond belief, but swords are hard to innovate because close-up combat is very strongly affected by latency, and it already ruins swordfighting now. adding more concepts to it like that will just make it worse.

no sword clan is relevant
which begs the question
what's the point of making a sword clan if no other is even close to contending |

"raycast has been a regular thing since like 2012"
What else are you supposed to use? Projectiles cause lag. |

This is one of the reasons most sword clans are so bad. Swords can't be improved upon and are overall terrible and impossible to improve, so sword super clans died out and lost recruitment, so it's just a collection of power clans prideful about its skill and raiding force that will never grow big.
It's a self-defeating circle.

I'm actually pretty sure more people are coming to the TSK community then guns which is pretty laughable TBH.
|
|
|
The reason why sword clans are less successful is because they aren't being creative enough in game design plus a lot are really toxic.
Gun clans are a bit more creative |
|
|
And what else is laughable is that groups such as RB and TDS can rally more than 85% of the guns clans.

That wasn't the only point I brought up. Guns aren't strongly affected by latency and aren't super boring. The learning curve is greater and there's a lot more to it.
And guns have been improved in other ways than functionality. Over time, guns have improved aesthetically with smoother animations and more and more detail put into the model itself. Most sword clans just stick with the classic linked sword.

Sir, you're talking about on C&G.
Swords are far superior then guns in general.
Just look at all these knight groups.

Well, there's more to swords than most people realize and even after quite a while of trying, I can't quite become as good at them as I'd like. However I learned to use swords decently much faster than I learned to use guns decently.
Swords are easier to learn, because even though there's more than meets the eye to both, swords have only three fundamental concepts to be mastered whereas guns have far more.
Swords:
1. Lunge Delay
After each lunge, there's a short delay before you can do anything with your sword again, and during this time you're defenseless if you're too close to your opponent. People have to learn how to bait opponents into lunging into you and getting close enough to be vulnerable while also maintaining their distance.
2. Positioning
This takes the longest to really understand, as no matter how much you know about it, there's still muscle memory and experience required to actually get it down. This entails knowing when to jump, lunge, bait, strike, take a step forward or backward, switching in and out of mouselock, etc.
3. Latency/"Reach"
It's a shame that this actually has to be a key concept to swordfighting, but it's next to impossible to mitigate its effects. It brings a certain amount of uncertainty to how to approach your opponent and how closely you should distance yourself from him, and often a certain latency has an advantage over another if both opponents don't know how severe the other's is.
With guns, there's aim, dodging, positioning, teamwork, camera angle, and these all change entirely based on whether you're in CQC, MQC, or LQC, and even if you're only working with one, mastering one of these concepts is more difficult than any of those of swords.

You also forgot timing such as flanking rushing baiting tanking lol |

When I was developing and leading in war clans, the guns I created could blow up buildings and vehicles.
I mean, they did a lot, lot of other stuff too, but that's just an example of something more unique. The destroyed objects would become a part of the map for a number of minutes depending on the object. You could use a destroyed vehicle as cover. (It wouldn't cause any performance problems either).
The innovation is out there, but people prefer to generalize. |

well swords do take skills, however i believe guns take more skills.
im a meadower myself, but i have to admit that guns take more skills, but that doesnt make swords any less fun lol.
imo swords are more fun than guns.
scrimmages w/ swords take teamwork, positioning, glitching (i hate glitching, but its an essential part of meadows), timing. |

@Woopi
I use #1 to win sword fights just about every time someone asks me to sword fight them... Like, I haven't been sword fighting on ROBLOX for more years than I can count, but I'll still beat people who do it regularly by just baiting out their lunge and going in for the kill. :(
Easiest trick in the book tbh... |
