Marine Corps Rank Guide Private/Lance Corporal/Corporal Your role in the UNSC may not seem like anything, and you may not feel like you matter, but you do. You are training and fighting to protect the UNSC, but like everyone else, you have limits. You cannot command anyone, and cannot drive a Warthog. Doing so will lead to a punishment. Sergeant/Staff Sergeant/Gunnery Sergeant You have the same role as your previous ranks, however, there are just a couple changes. You can now drive a Warthog, but you're expected to take a team, not just go by yourself. Sergeant Major Same roles as previous ranks, but you can only be promoted by attending an Officer Training, which is hosted by a Colonel+. Second Lieutenant/First Lieutenant/Captain Now since you are an officer, you're expected to be mature, and be able to fight properly. Major You are now in command of troops below you. They look up to you, and you need to make a good example. To be promoted, help Colonels+ with trainings. Colonel/Brigadier General/Lieutenant General Your rank says that you are truly looked up at. You need to show that your troops matter, which means acknowledging them, and not ignoring them. The only way you can rank up is by hosting trainings, even then only the General of the Marine Corps can rank you. General of the Marine Corps You command the Marine Corps, which means you need to show the most maturity of anyone. Do not treat your troops like nothing, as you are meant to be a role model. Choose your officers wisely.
