Welcome, this is the NETC guideline forum. This is to inform all about NETC. This sets up how you should act on-base, off-base, and/or at any allied base. Failure to comply to these rules will result in possible disciplinary actions.
The main point of NETC is to train all members of the group. We operate mainly at Great Lakes. Our skills as leaders and instructors expand farther than NETC. Other divisions look to us for these traits.
Section I: Joining
To join this division, please complete the following:
1. Join group
2. Own Uniform
3. Pass Drill Instructor School (tryouts).
Drill Instructor School (DIS) is hosted only by the Naval School Commander (NETC XO) or the NETC CO. Not all ranks will be allowed to attend. We recommend that you are above the rank E-3, as experience from trainings will play a important role if you intend to one day lead them.
Uniforms for NETC include Naval Working Unifom (Type III) or Khaki's. We recommend owning your own pair on NWU's, however they are available in the Uniform room at Great Lakes.
Section II: Drill Instructor School/Tryouts
In a Drill Instructor School/tryout you will be taught how to host a training. And that will happen by moving to every single that will be used for a training, including the shooting range and the Breach House. You will first be trained to see how much you know how to use those. Then the instructor will become an attendant to see if you can do it or not.
Section III: Ranking
Each rank in NETC has a job on base, fulfilling this will help the overall training and the effectiveness of it.
Drill Instructor School Candidate/ Waiting Admission: Your main job is attending DIS and passing. The recommended rank for this is E-3+. A person of this rank has no authority or power. May not host any trainings.
NOTE: If you are a NDI and don't have admin/mod at Great Lakes, please contact the NETC CO or someone who is "(O7) Rear Admiral v" or above.
Junior Naval Drill Instructor: Your main job is to co-host trainings. Someone who is a JNDI is typically the rank E-3+. A person of this rank has limited power
Naval Drill Instructor: The main job of a Naval Drill Instructor is to train enlisted sailors.
Senior Naval Drill Instructor:The main job is a Senior Naval Drill Instructor is same as a Naval Drill instructor; to train enlisted. However, the Senior Naval Drill Instructors have more powers, and to get promoted to Naval School Commander, you will need to be a Senior Naval Drill Instructor.
Naval School Commander/ NETC XO: The job of Naval School Commander is to maintain the NETC.
Commander of the Naval Education and Training Command/ NETC CO: The job of Naval Education and Training Command (NETC CO) is to control the NETC. |
