This guide is to explain what uniforms to wear and when. Greatcoats: The blue shaded uniform, to be worn from the end of October to the end of February, it is to be worn with bearskin according to rank. Captains+ may have a Golden Sabre worn on the belt, whereas 2nd LT - LT may have a silver sabre. CSM - RSM may use their canes. Tunics: The red shaded uniform, to be worn from the end of February to the end of October,Lieutenants+ may have a Golden Sabre worn on the belt. CSM - RSM may use their canes. MTP (Multi-Terrain Pattern): The green camo printed uniform, can be worn all year, Recruits wear a black beret with it, Guardsman+ wears a green beret with the cap badge on it. Sgt - RSM may hold their canes whilst in MTP ONLY WHEN ON PARADE. No.2's: The brown shaded uniform, worn on special occasions such as inspections, promotion ceremonies. It is to be worn with the correct Peaked Cap according to rank, recruits wear the black beret with it. Officers may carry a silver or gold sabre depending on their rank. No.1's The black shaded uniform, worn on very special occasions like royal visits, medal ceremonies and other ceremonial occasions. It is to be worn with the correct Peaked Cap according to rank, recruits wear the black beret with it. Officers may carry a silver or gold sabre depending on their rank. No.13's: The green striped uniform, worn mostly when on parade doing drill and some ceremonial marches.
