Well, it's finally happening, I'm finally leaving.
I know ninety percent of you have been hoping for this since the moment I was nominated to the Supreme Court. I've always tried to do my best, and I truly saw this group as a learning opportunity. Unfortunately, in this group, the core assumption is that either you have some hidden agenda, or if you don't, you must be an alt of someone who does.
I'm not into politics, that isn't my cup of tea. I enjoy law, I'm passionate about law, and I honestly couldn't care less about who has a majority in Congress; my goal here was to apply what I've learned, nothing more, nothing less. I have no agenda, and quite frankly, nobody in the judiciary should. That isn't the case though because most of our judges have an agenda. They see the courts as a way to jumpstart their political career, or an arena to abuse power, to play god.
Lately though, I've become inactive, and I acknowledge that. I'm proud of my activity while in the Department of Justice; I did my job, and I did it with dignity. On the Supreme Court however, I've received little respect, I've been accused of being an alt, and all I've done, all the work I did to get where I am, has been overlooked.
My inactivity, however, is not excusable, and that, together with the fact that I am evidently unwelcome is the reason for my resignation. I've been inactive simply because I am pursuing my love for law in real life. Recently, I was hired as a paralegal (part time) at a Florida-based law firm which I previously interned at. I've been dedicating all my extra time outside of school to my work and haven't really been able to keep up with my responsibilities here.
As is the custom, I'd like to thank a few people as I depart.
- Speaker SuddenRush12G: I wouldn't be here without you. You gave me so many opportunities and you pushed me to succeed. You've always stood by me, and for that I am very thankful. You were an amazing president, and an even better friend. Thank you!
- Senator SurpriseParty: You gave me my first chance and you've defended me throughout my time here. Keep doing what you're doing, you've got a bright future ahead of you.
- Justice SamuelKing22: You got me into the Justice Department and have been an amazing friend throughout my time here. I wish you the best, and I know you'll do great things!
- Chief Justice KOTwarrior: You've defended me through it all. You fought tooth-and-nail for me on the Supreme Court, and I can't thank you enough for that. I hope we cross paths some day.
- Justice JustYourDailyNoob: I'm glad to have known you, you truly are an incredible person, and I know, because of your amazing personality and drive, you'll go far in life.
- Senator AdamStratton: Thank you for helping me become Solicitor General. Your support helped me get to where I am, and I couldn't be more proud of how well you've done as Vice President and in the Senate. Your dedication will take you places.
I'm sorry to everyone I've let down by doing this, but there isn't anything else I can do. My obligations in real life force me to be inactive and that inactivity is a detriment to the Supreme Court.
This resignation is effective immediately.
