[Las Vegas Police Department] (“Partners with the community”) LVPD Handbook Rank structure: Officer - Law enforcer, basic member within in the LVPD. Suspended - Punished and disciplined officer Senior Officer - Veterans of LVPD, people who have been in lvpd for a while, etc. Corporal - A more experienced officer. Sergeant - An experienced member of the department, and proven that can lead officers. One person in this rank is the Detective Sergeant, which heads the detectives. Lieutenant - A leader within the department. Captain - A high ranking authority within the department, a role model. Deputy Chief - Self explanatory. Assistant Sheriff - Head of individual taskings assigned with heading the Dept Undersheriff - Self explanatory. Sheriff - Self explanatory. Mayor - The Mayor of Las Vegas - self explanatory. This is to prevent mass events and confusion. Promotions are not usually given at events, but with exceptional service comes exceptional rewards. If you are exceptional and have shown dedication, you just might get a promotion. Promotions: Promotions are given to those who dedicate themselves to the LVPD. LVPD is a department where you don't get promoted for winning a TDM at a training, it's a department where if you show dedication, you get respect back.
