Music: Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima by Krzysztof Penderecki and Frankie Teardrop
Book: 1984 (It was just a normal amount of creepiness everything about it, until I got to Book III it became even more terrifying and saddening)
Movie: The Ring

As for scariest movie i think it was Room because at that time all i would watch was gory horror movies and then i watched Room which was too raw for me in a way and it had emotion. Also bully was kinda raw as well in a rather realistic sense considering that it is based on an actual crime case though bully isn't really that scary its more of shocking and moving as well as being a very powerful movie along with its message. Also poltergeist scared me as a kid and even though i love horror movies now i haven't watched poltergeist since. |

"Movie: The Ring"
the thing I found scariest about the ring was the first scene in the cursed vhs tape footage...the audio creeps me out... |
|
|
@Cud
Yes, remembering what I've seen as a kid that was the most memorable and frightening. Samara's appearances are creepy and what to that person's face is disturbing; though all i remember is chair turning, then after that it's blackness, but still not as disturbing as the tape. |

" but still not as disturbing as the tape"
the video tape footage itself is kinda...meh. I think the crappy cgi ladder falling down ruined it for me (bear in mind I first watched the ring about 3 weeks ago)...Only the first 30 seconds freaks me out

song: I don't get "scared". More just really unnerved, but never fear.
book: rat's in the walls by h.p. lovecraft
movie: n/a
tv show: stranger things ( the monster is very well made )
|
|

Its an SCP, does that count?
SCP 610
Bascially its a virus that turns you into a fleshy monster and takes control of you and eats everything around you |

music: any very popular song. they scare me, because their popularity reflects how bad society has become. there's good music made today, but people tend to accept the garbage.
book: parts of the Old Testament are actually very dark, but interesting.
movie: Downfall. that movie everyone made lame memes about bc it was the one with the guy playing the infamous German dictator A.H, yelling at everyone. it was pretty terrifying to see the end of the war in Berlin, and how it was like for the people there. even more terrifying to consider there are still Nat Socialist and Communist who follow those evil ideologies that had led to so much murder during, and after the war.
TV Show: no idea. I don't watch much regular TV. cable is kind of bad, so I just watch shows on Netflix, but none of them are scary really. |

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark are still classics. The eerie visuals by themselves have so much to them. I use to read those books and then the notes in the back over and over. |

Real... so like a slasher where they use lots of ketchup? |
|

Thanks Bria, I don't know how Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark slipped from my memory. It's just an urban legend kind-of-scary and the illustrations are horrifying. |
|
|
the illustrations are by far the scariest thing
i mean the stories arent that skary but the picturs are

"Real... so like a slasher where they use lots of ketchup?"
That isn't what i meant, what i meant is that in my opinion the majority of the paranormal horror movies are not really what i consider 'real horror/hardcore horror' What i consider real horror is anything gory and anything with torture as well as anything that is meant to disgust the normal moviegoers. Real horror is about innovation anything gory to me is that as well as anything super violent. I know this opinion may sound rather extreme or elitist to some but when it comes to horror i look for gore and usually no plot or at least a loose plot, something that gets to the point. |

imo, horror shouldn't disgust. It should horrify.

"imo, horror shouldn't disgust. It should horrify."
Sinister 2 is a fine example of doing both of those things. I respect your opinion cir though in some ways i disagree. Some horror movies do both horrify and disgust. |
|

yeah im not a big gore guy myself in horror, i prefer psychological horror or stuff that uses mystery
