(I've made a couple of changes this time. Warning now, this is going to be pretty long. So, for TL;DR just read the titles with >>>>"Title here"<<< to get a general idea of what I mean.)
You know, at first I wasn't really disturbed by the filter, but now I can kind of see the problem. The problems I see are roleplay games that use roblox's filter now act as if it's the 12- filter AND, the 12- filter is acting up weirdly.
So here's what I propose.
1.>>>>Change the way the 12- filter works and get rid of Sift!<<<<
Some very common words are being censored. Such as lol, i'm, RP, profile, age, and other stuff (these are the ones i've seen lately by the way). I can understand some of these. I understand you need to protect the kids from old people trying to lure them online, but you don't need to make them suffer too. You're taking away their freedom of speech with all this censoring. Also, making the chat get flooded with hashtags. This can't be the only way ROBLOX. I'd say you should revert the filter back to the old one, but that's on the WNTS so no. No, I have an even better idea.
Leave what is censored up to the parents. For 12- accounts ONLY, what the player can say without getting hashtagged to others and what things that other people say that would get hashtagged to them is up to the parents. It's time you make the PARENTS be responsible for their kids. This way, you won't get blamed for when stuff like a six year old getting lured online happens. It's the parent's job to protect their kids on the internet. Not saying you shouldn't try though either.
Until an account has an ema1 l, they cannot chat in-game, message, or use any other way of communication. They can still play games, but they have SUPER safe chat so what they say is pre-selected.
2.>>>12- and 13+ RP game genres<<<
(This took a lot of thought). Some roleplayers don't like kids messing it up for them. Also, as I mentioned in the beginning, roleplay name and description GUIs are being forced to use the ROBLOX's 12- filter, and currently, that filter is really bad. So I understand you don't want kids to be using a 13+ filter since well, their not 13+. So here's the deal. There's two genres of RP. 12- and 13+. 12- still uses the way I stated above in 1 and the names/description GUIs filter are controlled by parents. If a game is put into 12- and then uses what will be hashtagged for description and name GUIs is like I controlled by what I said before in 1. Pretty simple.
Now for the 13+ part. 13+'s RP filter is made by the creator of the game. You don't have to force your filter on every single roleplay game, ROBLOX. Devolopers can handle it. If a roleplay game doesn't have a filter at all, then ROBLOX closes the game down and tells the creator why (obviously because it didn't have a filter). Also, if the creator doesn't know how, then give them a tutorial or a link to a wiki page about making a filter for their game.
3.>>>18+ filter<<<
Yes, an 18+ filter. I would've said 15+, but I don't know what 15 year olds could use as identification (so I'd like suggestions on it if you want it to be 15+ in replies). Just as you would expect, no hashtags at all. Except if you asked a 12- something like where they are in real life would pop up as hashtags for them. 18+ can only see what other 18+ say, BUT there's a catch..
For 18+, you need some kind of identification to PROVE you are above 18 or at 18. Such as a card, or something. (Come up with things for identification in the replies). Maybe pay $1.00 with a card (with one week of BC possibly) to prove it like how Microsoft makes you pay to prove you're an adult.
4.>>>If something is inappropriate, then remove it from the chat completely<<
Pound sign, or hashtag. Whatever you want to call it. It litters the chat. We don't need our chat filled with hashtags if we can't understand what it means. Instead, remove what the person said, then a sign in the chat with a reason why. 12- would be "Restricted by parent", 13+ would be "Inappropriate content was found in what you said", 18+ inappropriate stuff wouldn't appear for 13+ or 12-. It would only appear for other 18+ (like I mentioned before). Kind of like the [Content Deleted] from the old filter. Except, your content wasn't in the chat at all, and you're given an actual reason.
-Conclusion-
How do you think I could change these up a bit? Support or no support (and a reason why if you don't)?
Please, support. I'm sure that most of us can agree that this filter is bad, but with these suggestions and enough support, we could get moderators to see it. These ideas could change everything. Also, you'll see less complaints about the filter. So please, support this, bump it, and tell others about it.

Support!
I'd like to definitely see the first one be implemented back. I feel bad for those under the age of 13 to suffer communicating in tags. Censoring the harmful words and ONLY the harmful words is a plan, but innocent ones shouldn't be tagged! Let players have the right to speak, don't you want them to make conversation with others or even make friends? Also, parents need to take more responsibility into their children, because they need to be secured, or bad things will happen (just like that incident a few days back.) Parents should also know that the Internet isn't always a safe place! They need to make the decision for their children to even use the internet, because you don't know what may happen. Obviously, most kids are self-reliant and can take care of themselves. They know how to respond in situations like the one beforehand. In my opinion, revert back to the "old" safe chat, where the players under the age of 13 could actually communicate more easily and cannot suffer from hashtags! Also, parents, take more responsibility into your children. It's your fault if you aren't looking after them when serious things happen.
Overall, all these ideas are great, and I hope they actually notice these ideas and ATLEAST implement the first idea, because we need that back into Roblox! Let players have the ability to speak with others instead of just getting tags in half of your sentences. Inappropriate words should be the only words censored, not the harmless ones!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. :D
Sincerely,

maybe you guys could reply and support the actually productive post that might change ROBLOX in a good way instead of the posts just saying "FIX THE FILTER" without giving a way how.

As a role-player I find it very difficult to role-play when my name gets filtered out. I personally use Japanese names as I like to role-play as a kitsune. I also find it rather silly that things like I gets filtered out as that is very important to describing your characters actions, I suppose you could use she would or he would (If those aren't filtered out as well...). I wholeheartedly agree with filtering out curse words and actions that are deemed inappropriate. |

b2.
when I reach b4 i'll stop bumping ONLY for today..

Protests won't help guys. ROBLOX doesn't listen to petitions, and neither will they to protests. We need to SUGGEST! Not just say FIX IT! Suggest ways to change it, WE HAVE THE POWER! ALL WE NEED TO DO! IS WORK TOGETHER!
(a bit cringe but motivational too)
work together to support this post because barely anyone is.

I don't have reasons right now but I support. |

Yes! You get it, suggest answers! Keep bumping and I totally support! |

this is so gr8, why aren't more people supporting this?

@monkey
I know right, they're looking at the wrong things.
Even though this might be a REVOLUTIONARY change to the filter

C'mon Roblox notice this post and all of the others too |

forget what I said about b4 before.

"Also, if the creator doesn't know how, then give them a tutorial or a link to a wiki page about making a filter for their game."
that's exactly what roblox already does...
they keep the game down for review until the creator successfully enforces the filter on their game
|
|
|
@Un
Oh, then they should keep doing it.
So is that a support or no support?

i'm really not gonna read this, hopefully you're not taking offense for that because it's apparent you spent some time on it
but you also need to understand that roblox uses a third-party filter and they're limited on what they can do; it's called community sift and it works on a reputation-based system: the more you get filtered, the stricter the filter becomes for you
|
|
|
Not taking any offense. Also, I already understand how community sift works.

I do not Accept this. making someone older to pay to prove it. that is just a bad idea. forcing someone to make a subscription will make this game pay to play. not free to play. |
